How do I get him to sleep till 9 or so?

I’m sure he has to do his “business”. My dog goes out at 5 AM because thats as long as she can hold it and then we go back to bed til 10 (sometimes 11 for her). Nature calls. If you had to go, you wouldn’t want someone to say “c’mon now, hold it for a few more hours”.

Take him out right before you go to bed. I go to bed around 10:30. I take my dog out around 10, and he’s fine until about 7 AM.

I have taken him out 4 times per day, I have cut off his water at 6pm, I have sat with him, and played with him for 2 hours, and he still goes outside at 3 or 5 AM and does a dime size pee and no poop till 6pm.

Ignore him, unless you live in an apartment, and unless he needs to relieve himself. My cat usually wakes me at 5am meowing really loud. I ignore him and usually he quiets down.
