Can my laptop effectively run Battlefield 2?

If not - will I easily upgrade

Hi wise folk - I’ve been given a laptop with the following spec. I know it’s below that which BF2 requires but will I be able to get away with it and if not - how easy will it be to upgrade the necessary components? Spec is 1.6 celeron, 256mb ram, ATI 7700 graphics card, plenty of free harddrive, not sure about sound and/or video. Sorry to be dense but can you help? Gonzo

No, that system will choke and die on BF2. The ram spec alone is far, far too low. For bf2, you MUST have 1gb of ram, and I pretty much recommend 2gb for most people anyway.

Also, the processor and video card just won’t be up to the task. Harsh reality right here, laptops SUCK for gaming. Slow LCD refresh, sub-par parts, and bad input == not a good gaming experience. If you really want to play the game, it’ll be time for a desktop.
