United States legal drinking age.

What is your opinion on it? Do you think the age should be lowered to 18?

well being “legally” an adult but having to wait 3 years is silly.
i think 20 should be when all things come together.

i think it should be between 18-20 because it isn’t fair that you can be 18 years old and go to war, vote, and are legally an adult but yet you can’t legally drink.

I think that it is highly appropriate and if anything it should be more than 21 yrs of age before you can start drinking!

no matter waht age you are, people can’t really handle alcohol. Everyone does something stupid while drinking and unfortunatly for my brother, some idiot thought it’d be fun to drive after having the best night of his life. oh guess what! the driver, he was only 35…

I think its should be 18 your legally an adult and all it does for you is allow you to drink without getting in trouble with the law… teenagers do it before there 16 so what does it matter (not all teens but some)

Doesn’t really matter, no one obeys the law anymore. Let people do what they want, they will learn the hard way.

My country has an age 18 drinking age, and has less road rage/alcohol related deaths than the U.S., so the argument that lowering the drinking age would lead to drunk driving is stupid. Besides, you’re allowed to join the army and kill people at age 18 but not allowed to have a beer?

i believe the legal drinking age should be 18, because of this matter is once a person has turned 18 they are allowed to vote, go to war, smoke, and etc. i also think that this is just age discrimination. people, once turned 18 are considered legal adults, so if they are allowed to do everything else, why cant they drink. i know that your brain doesnt fully develope until your 21 but once your 18 your allowed to do with your body how ever you want. the government shouldnt be able to tell you or anything like that to what you can do with your life, and if someone wants to abuse it, let them do so.

legal drinking age needs to be lowered to 18. we must ask ourselves the question, when are we adults? all other laws point to 18. do we really want more binge drinking on college campuses? if the drinking age were lowered to 18, colleges would have more control over drinking on their campuses, as opposed to it being a completely underground activity. also, many “underage” drinkers between ages 18 and 20 drink, get completely drunk and sick, and yet won’t seek medical attention for fear of getting in trouble with the law. i understand the argument that madd proposes, but if they are so concerned with drunk driving, which is a legitimate worry, they should crack down on drunk drivers of all ages, instead of just the average 18-20 year old. the fact is, there will always be drinking under the age of 21. however, no matter what the drinking age, there will be irresponsible people making bad decisions. instead of letting these people ruin it for everyone, we as a nation must make it a point to repremand them, while retaining liberty for the rest of our adult population.
