I need and excuse for plaguerising.
I’m in grade 8. I was late doing a project to make a newspaper so I re-worked some articles online. It is easy to see that it is not my work. My teacher has already said [some students have been using other people’s work. This is very serious etc.] She will talk to me about this on Monday. I am sure of it. What should I do?

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
redo it ur own way…dont just steal someone elses work u can put some of their work in but make sure u put in () the page number and the name of the aurthor and article kk
Tell her its just a one time thing, and you were just under pressure to do good in class.
ya but it’s already done…i’m concerned that i’ll get in trouble Now.
Gather up all the articles you used and make a bibliography. Then tell her you forget to reference them.
It’s Friday night. If I were you and ready to do the right thing, I would try and redo the project by Monday completely and the right way. Approach your teacher before she talks to you and say something similar to the following:
“I made a mistake by copying others’ work rather than correctly citing and interpreting the information I found. Therefore, I have redone the assignment. I understand what I did was wrong, and I also understand that you may not be able to give me full credit on this assignment because of what I have done. I’m Sorry.”
Some of that is optional and you can mix it up, but if you dont say something like “I know I cant get full credit / I understand if you cannot accept this…etc” then it just looks like you figured you can take an extra two days over everyone else (weekend), AND plagiarize the first copy, and nothing will happen to you.
It’s your call how you proceed. Good luck and I hope you’ve learned your lesson. If you do something like this in college or even in high school you usually receive an automatic F, and most colleges will expel you.
redo the project
and when she brings it up just tell her you didn’t know exactly what to write and your first draft was really bad but you wanted to do really good on the project so you ended up using some1 elses work
then you can hand her the paper you did on your own and tell her now that you had time to really think about it you think your original paper was alright and if sh eowuld except it you would like to hand it in.
try 2 sound real innocent…like you really wanted to do good on the paper and that you were under so much pressure……..
o and next time try to write the paperon your own…i know using some1 elses work is very tempting but come on now don’t b lazy….lol
Owning up to it right now, and accepting that what you did is wrong, would be a good idea indeed. It is, in fact, pretty wrong, but you will likely get off with something relatively minor in grade 8, as opposed to what would happen in college.
Most colleges do, in fact, expell you for plagiarizing. It’s an incredibly serious offense.
i agree with texas

Okay- plaguerism sucks but people do it all the time. You did it- and i’m sure everyone here have all done it at some point. I agree with Texas, but it’s offically called a “works cited” page. And say that you realized you didn’t do the paper MLA style… and that your more than happy redo the paper MLA style. See as long as you cite something- you aren’t plaguerising. You can cite a whole paper and get a great grade. From now on do that ok—you must be feeling sooo nervous.
Excuse? there is nothing that can excuse a wrong. The best you can do is figure out why you did it without blaming it on a too heavy load. Accept the consequences for your actions, and figure out how you will prevent the situation that tempted you to cheat in this manner. IF you can present yourself in this light (I know what I did is wrong. It was bad judgement for me to do this no matter what pressure I was under. I will not do this again.) Know that there will be consequences and do your best to accept them positively… in a way that helps you learn the lesson. you will come out ok. your grade this term is likely to fall there is plenty more for you to learn

I agree with DanTL, Alex, Heather and Jim
If I were your teacher, let me just say that I would be more likely to deal with you better if you were honest and said you were desperate. Remember, you have to face this person the rest of the year– do not get a rep. for being dishonest on top of plagiarizing. A zero now is better than having every piece of work you turn in the rest of the year be scrutinized with a “fine tooth comb.”
Paper weight and Cute are right too– you should redo the project and apologize profusely. If you do not know how to document your sources, use this: http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/res…
Plagiarism is a big pet peeve of mine. You take someone else’s work and put your name on it, to me, that’s worse than stealing. I’m sorry, but you deserve whatever punnishment you get for it.

So true, Xeno!
Just redo it but in more detail than you should try to add extra things that none of your other classmates will have done, Impress him/her. Say that you know what you did was wrong and you regret ever doing it. The only reason you did it was because ou didn’t fully understand what to do. (usually teachers ask why didn’t you come to see me earlier about this problem e.t.c) If your teacher says this just say that you didnt want to incase she thought you were less intelligent than you should be. Throw a few, “sorrys” in there and your good to go. Don’t worry to much about it. Save worrying till the las tminute so your teacher can clearly see that you regret doing this and, to be honest. Most people posting replies here have probably done this and those who haven’t, why are you trying to give him advice when clearly you have never experienced how much pressure he’s under.
That ending logic doesn’t make much sense. It’s like saying, “Most of you have probably killed before, and if you haven’t why are you giving this murderer a hard time? You don’t know what he’s gone through.” Do you see how bad that sounds? Well, it’s the same logic as yours, just with a more extreme example.
Okay…
killing is harming someone
as long as it doesn’t affect the writer of the original article, it’s not bad, and your example doesn’t fit.
sry i dont mean it’s not bad you know what i mean
