Unidentified clothes moths.

So this may be a cut and paste question, but I couldn’t see re writing it the same way. This was posted over a year ago and the solution (at least one I like has not be posted)

My preface is that it seems to be more of a parasite of clothes and not a person. There are no fibers coming from me. There are no flies coming from within me. They are all around, on clothes, furniture and even me until I take a shower. They are in my car and sometimes at work. So Please if anyone figured this out last year or whenever, let me know.
Thansformed said “People are contracting a tiny white parasite from clothing of retail stores. If you have specific knowledge on this pest or if you know a good ectoparasitologist who could help identify it, please write me asap!

This pest is neither a mite nor a flea. Because it’s airborne and breeds really fast, it’s very difficult to control and get read of. I and another person contracted this pest via clothing at Value City. It has been a nightmare experience!

Extermination:
We’ve tried RID, Kleen Free Enzymes, and various pesticide sprays. I’ve sprayed like crazy EVERY day. I even spray my clothing with RID. I wash my hair every night. Yet I’m still seeing this pest.

The other victim had a worse case, and she became emotionally drained. GOD allowed her to find me via the internet. As Christians, we encourage and pray for each other.

I’m trying to find other victims of the same source–Value City. **If you know anyone, who contracted the same pest from that particular store, have them send me an email at: vcityvictim(at)yahoo.com (Use the “at” symbol when typing address.)

Please pay close attention as I describe the physical attributes and symptoms of this pest. If you have this pest you will see 3 types of white things:

1) tiny round things about the size of a spec of salt

2) tiny, oblong shaped, thread-like fiber looking things; about 1/16 of an inch long

3) slightly larger white things that jump and fly

Optional: You might see tiny black things the same as item # 1 and # 2 above. The other victim thinks the white things turn black when they die. I don’t know.

If you have this pest, you will have the following physical symptoms:

1) Bites that sting
2) Red skin rashes and/or red bumps
3) Optional: Itching **I did not itch. Yet another victim of the same thing had an itching problem.

Pest Habits:
This tiny white flying pest can be found anywhere. Once it gets in your environment, it will be all over the place. It likes clothing, hair, and dark colored things. You’ll see #1 and #2 white things resting on material and non-material items. ie, a black totebag or purse The #3 white things aren’t easy to catch flying unless you have a large volume.

those sound yummy!

sounds like they prefer Christians though.

Play some psychadelic music. I think they can’t stand psychadelic music.

But seriously get some sticky fly paper or moth traps or check in with your dermatologist. It might not be something you think it is.

That’s not a bad idea. I plan to get glue traps to at least cut down on the flying part of the population. Nothing kills the larvae or pupae yet. I plan to attempt to fumigate with dry ice.

I have a theory after careful study and microscopic examination. Demodicidae. Also know as the hair mite. It’s microscopic and lives in or on all humans. There is plenty on line about it, feel free to google.

As far as the extension office or exterminatos are concerned. I’ve tried those routes. They know insects. This seems to be a mite. The reason people see threads (my theory) is that the mite will attach itself to hair or loose threads in clothing and wait for a host. The threads seem to move on their own as the mite reacts to light, which they hate. I’m meeting with a doctor to look at my samples under his microscope. I also plan to contact a parasitologist at UGA if needed.

For the record, I don’t buy into the whole “morgellons” or “Unidentified Skin Parasite” There are way too many people with this for it not to identified. Stay tuned as I continue my scientific evaluation. I’ll be better than all the others when I find the culprit and the solution and I’ll report it in detail here.

Well, went to the dermotologist today. She off course did not do a microscopic examination as I requested, so I may go to another one. She said if it was some time of human parasite infestation she would see some type of trace evidence. I told her I disagreed but also felt it was something from the enviroment getting on me.

Anyway, no reflief yet. Thanks all the Morgellons folks for your input, but please post them somewhere else. I don’t have any fibers coming from sores in my skin.

My microscopic examination has turned up some type of “fungus” or mold in the envireoment. I plan to have a specialist come and check.

There is an answer. I’m also currently researching various types of nematodes.

Well, the good news is, it’s going away. I don’t know if it’s because the weather is turning colder, but I suspect that’s it. It probably is not from chemicals that I’ve sprayed. I encourage everyone using lice shampoo, flea spray, bleach, or some other harsh chemical to stop. Vacuum daily, but the chemicals only made things worse and who knows what other problems they have caused. The problem does get better on it’s own. They are mostly gone. Once they seem completely gone (I suspect a few days) I will clean and steam clean the carpets, feel in any holes outside the dogs have dug and wash everything I wear. My goal now is to prevent this from happenning when it get’s warmer. If you live in South Texas or some place where it doesn’t really get cold, let me know how you fare.

Brian

I am glad to hear that others are investigating the exact same thing I have been tormented with for the past 6mo. My doctor and dermatologist made sure I spent 3 days in the psych. ward and now I am so furious with them that I have given up. I can only hope some day this problem goes away. Maybe the winter cold will help me out.

I had all most identical characters like blk. grains, blk. oblong egg like things, tiny blk. 1/16 long fibers that I assumed came from the egg like things, the only differance was that the tiny moth like things were also blk.The black grains were just below the surface of my skin (hands and feet). When I would tap it quickly with the cherry of a cigerette a tiny little perfectly shaped moth thing would pop out of my skin. Now the oblong eggs or pods I found mainly in the bathroom between the seem of the molding and once in my car in a open compartment above my radio and around a small pile of pods back in the corner I could see a few of the 1/16 fibers they appeared to be alive and this might seem wierd but it was like they had some minor form of intellect.I have it on video. It freaked me out the first couple of weeks because there was other things that happened before during and after these things.I got pretty sick and after 6mths. of going back and fourth to emergency while trying to keep myself sane and alive.I was admitted in with MRSA for 2 wks. on I.V. vancomycin antibiotic then put on Zyvox(20 pills @ $100.00 ea.totaling $2000.00 for the script).I proceeded to liquidate my belongings and leave Lake Worth Fla..I went to Montana and live with my 9yr. old daughter I have lots of theories about my experiance and for 3yrs. still search for answers so I can put this unbelievable enigma behind me.Thanks if you have pictures please E-mail me.
