Is chivalry accepted anymore?

Any time i try and do a good deed and be nice it either gets ignored, refused, or taken the wrong way in general. Is niceness dying to the point where good people wont be able to be good? Its all so confusing anymore.

That explains it. It’s “wrong” at your age and it will be until you’re 25+. Only then people will learn to appreciate it. There’s nothing wrong with doing it now, just don’t expect anything in return in the next few years.

It’s always been like this, don’t think that this just started. Chivalry has never been of much interest to most people below 25 so there’s no need for the “anymore” in your question.

yeah, I really think it’s becoming a dying ‘art’ I don’t necessarily agree with jumbo, because if you, as a young kid, try to do a chivalrous act towards an elderly folk, he/she just ignores it or passes it off as a sorta accident.

I really don’t see where this 25 comes from either? Is that the standard age ppl just start learning common decency? If before 25 you weren’t acting chivalrous, then you’re not gonna be after 25, that age doesn’t bring this to you all of a sudden.

Yeah. It’s accepted and noticed by some people. Don’t ever give it up :)

Yes sir it is accepted.. I am a 16 year old girl, and frankly, when a guy doesn’t have chivalry i don’t date him again.. Believe me, it makes the girl feel like she’s special.. and its really cute when a guy hold open a door for you

bluestar777: What if you weren’t dating that guy? Wouldn’t you feel like he was hitting on you?

It’s still cute regardless if your dating them or not, i have alot of guy friends and i’m practically their sister, and they’re practically my brothers, and yet they still open doors for me and such.. I don’t think it’s a big deal if a guy has chivalry, i think it’s good
