Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
download FLV codecs they convert flash vidio then try you tube again. Hope this helps :-)
What’s FLV codecs?
The FLV Flash Video codec allows you to play FLV files such as those you would find at YouTube and other websites that use Flash Video. What system and vidio player are you using?
I’m not sure.
I think it’s Flash Player.
Go here and get a FLV player for free then you can watch all FLV files. http://www.download.com/3000-2139_4-1… Hope this helps :-)
No. Sorry. That didn’t work, I’m afraid!
Heres a quick question do you have virus protection and spyware removers installed on your pc?
Yes. Both.
The player should of worked. What system are your using? Windows XP, Vista or other. Try up grading the Media Player and the system, then run the spyware removers to make sure that the system is clean then try Watching You tube again and see if that works.
I have Windows XP.
Look, I don’t think that’ll work.
Sometimes spyware will mess with the browser. I dont know if you have installed XP codecs so here install them from http://www.xpcodecpack.com/ I dont know what you have on your pc so I ask these questions and give suggestions. If you have a problem with this process, then stop wasting my time. Hope this helps :-)
I have made scans to my computer for spyware many times and I get no results. I don’t go on dodgy sites, or download anything suspicious, and I can guarantee that I don’t have spyware on my computer. I am trying not to waste my time.
The point is, Youtube has changed, and now I can’t view the vidoes due to this change. I want to know what I need to do/download to make this possible.
I have the same problem and it comes and goes. I’ve also followed Adobe’s OFFICIAL attempt to instruct this problem but it doesn’t work (completely removing and reinstalling with lastest version). I’ve also done a full virus scan, I also have Norton Personal Firewall along with the Antivirus and Internet Security 360- so I’m fully protected. The situation seems to be with the Flash Player itself and Youtube because other sites using the same FlashPlayer is working fine.
I’ll probably come back later today and see if the video works, it might be some sort of streaming issue- overloaded, etc?
what other websties use the same flash player??
i have a same problem, it would say that either my javascript is off or i need to update my adobe flash player which i did and still wont work. I also updated my windows media player too, did the scan too. If anyone knows solution i would really really appreceate it
I am having the same problems! I have herd of people having these problems but can’t find a solution. I am really missing youtube!
LOL. I miss Youtube too.
Well, what happened was I looked up YouTube for the official instructions, and that said to remove and reinstall, and I can’t even install it again! Even off the Adobe site! I can’t believe this. So now I have no Flash Player and am awaiting a response from Adobe about my enquiry.
It’s really angrying me.
Ive got the same probs, one day it was working now its not, done all new downloads, still no good,
_____I FOUND THE SOLUTION________
Hey everyone I’m back lol- it’s (email removed) but i couldn’t activate my account o.o But I solved the problem- it’s because of any pop-up blockers you have installed. For Mozilla Firefox go to Tools->Options and uncheck “pop-up blocker” then go to any Personal Firewall or AV you have and turn off your “Web-ad blocking” or “pop-up blocker” (in my case I have Norton Personal Firewall) This DEFINITELY solves the problem and it worked for every else i’ve told. If it’s still not working then you have a web-ad blocker that’s still running that you haven’t found.
For internet explorer it’s still the same- just go to Tools->internet options->Privacy(tab) and then uncheck “Pop-up blocker”
Hope this helps you all

No, no luck. I’ve already tried that, and it didn’t work.
i have the same problem but i cant get it to wrk either and its really annoying
everytime i go on youtube it says “Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe’s Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.” I know that it isnt my flashplayer because ive always had the same one and it worked but now all of the sudden it doesnt so it has to be Javascript
Yeah, that’s the message. It really is **** annoying.
LOL. I don’t see what was wrong with that word, but hey.
=O Sorry to hear my solution didn’t work =\ at least it was able to help some others. Well here are some specs that will hopefully help you out- I’m using the latest versions of Mozilla Firefox and IE
Mozilla Firefox - version 2.0.0.8 tools->options->content->block pop-up windows
Internet Explorer - version IE7 tools->internet options->privacy->pop-up blocker
Norton Personal Firewall - version 2005(updated) web-ad blockers off
I will try to keep experimenting and finding out what the problem is, let me know if anything seems to resolve the issue for you!
!UPDATE!
The INTERNET Explorer 7 is not working for me and I believe I found the reason- the security issues with ActiveX and pop-up blocker recognize it as illegit so blocks it from running even though pop-up blocker is disable. So even with pop-up blocker disabled the IE7 security still blocks the video from running because of the ActiveX control. So the only way to watch the videos at the moment is using Mozilla Firefox and turning off all pop-up blockers as I mentioned before.
And Babycakes- can you tell me which browser you are running, if it’s up to date, and what antiviruses or firewalls you have running?

I’m still trying to find out the problem with IE7- from what I’ve been working with it’s a security-interference issue that i haven’t been able to turn off yet which is associated with IE7. From what I’ve seen there’s no way to bypass it for now.

I have IE7, and Norton Internet Security. I don’t believe its a pop up blocker that’s not letting me download as I put adobe.com on my safe list, and allowed pop ups from there.
So I am still left without a Flash Player.
the first time I uninstalled flash, rebooted and reinstalled it, i got youtube working fine. a day or so after that it started saying the “javascript not installed or flash is off” error message to just some of the videos, but now it keeps on saying the error message to every video i try to watch.
K just recently the videos stopped working again, and I analyzed the error messages from the scripts that they’re running. From what it’s gathering the scripts they’re running are not compatible. At first using Mozilla Firefox and turning off any pop-up blockers solved the problem- the reason why adding the application to safe-list wasn’t working was because the videos itself are not part of adobe and are included as an “ad” or unknown application since youtube is merely a “link-to” and not the host of the videos even though you can upload to it.
For now it seems youtube is going to have to battle it out and solve the scripts or see what scripts they have running are interfering. If you’re running IE7 and you get those script-error messages they’ll tell you which scripts are interfering with each other and on Mozilla under the error console there’s a whole list of scripts that are invalid.
As far as determining the flash player as a web-ad, it’s determined as a pop-up that’s not only defined under Adobe Flash player but also as several different hosts since it’s a link. There might be something Youtube is doing that hasn’t told anyone about, since most websites such as this run several applications from “supporters” who pay them. Alot of “free” applications have spyware in them as a “third-party” software because that’s how the website makes a little money.
I am using Firefox and I have still yet to find a solution to the youtube problem even after trying everything that has already been said.
I was having the same error message. This is what I did to make it work again:
Firefox Tools: content tab => unclick both ‘enable Javascript’ and ‘enable java’ boxes => click OK => close Firefox => re-open Firefox => go to Firefox Tools: Content tab => click both ‘enable Javascript’ and ‘enable java’ boxes => click OK => close Firefox => re-open Firefox => open new tab and go to youtube site. It should look like normal again.
It worked for me, I hope it works for you as well! It’s been a pain!
My problem is after uninstalling Adobe Flash Player on IE7, Adobe won’t let me install it again. The download doesn’t work saying that I have had a previous version installed. I am left woth no Flash Player at this moment.
It worked twice for me and then I was still having the same problem. I followed the directions at the google/youtube help site:
http://www.google.com/support/youtube…
also, don’t forget to disable the popup blocker - the installation for adobe flash player appears in a popup at the top of the screen. It’s also important to restart your computer and browser after each change, apparently.
My youtube is now back to normal (although I think this might have been an issue on their part all along).
I hope this helps:)
I have been having this problem for a while. What is up with this? What is the actual solution?
I had the EXACT same problem.Im not sure if this would work for you but what i did was install mozilla and when i went to watch a vid on youtube, it said the same thing it said when i used internet explore, but under the adress bar a note popped up saying there was other files needed to play the video and beside it it said get the files needed. I clicked it and it installed what i needed.
Hope that Works.

i have the same problem i left it for days to see what would happen and nothing
i have the same problem exept i have a windows vista and i hope it doesnt take long
Hey
i tried everything what says here above, but it still didnt work! But then, i ran a program called ccleaner, it removes cookies and other stuff, and it works for me. I downloaded and installed and uninstalled for many many times, but it didn’t have any effect.. but try to uninstall, install the latest flash player and remove your cookies and history afterwards! hope this helped you!
when i click on youtube to go there, or if i type it in on my web address it says internet explorer cannot display the webpage, anyone wanna tell me why?
I have tries everything listed above. And NOTHING WORKS. :(
All it did was make so i can watch a few of the videos. but most still load forever.
Symtoms:
-The video never stops loading
-the page always gets stuck on “1 item remaining”
-Can watch 5% of the videos on youtube only
Is there any way to fix this for sure?
I had the same problem and this is what I did to fix it. I have a program called JV Power Tools that lets me uninstall programs on my PC. I uninstalled all the plug-ins associated with Firefox and everything related to Adobe Flash Player. I went to Datpiff.com and when you try to listen to a CD, it asks to install a plug-in, say yes, and it installs the plug-in right there and then while your still in the Firefox Browser. This helped for me, let me know if it works for you.
Hi,
I experienced this issue and tried any number of recommended solutions. I stumbled on the answer to my problems yesteday as I upgraded from Norton Anti Virus/Firewall 2003 to 2008. Once done this issue went away. Two other issues seem to have been resolved at the same time:
1. Runaway process ccpxysvc.exe was taking 99% of resources and seizing my PC
2. Facebook buttons and links were disabled.
Regards,
David Williams
PS. I am using Windows XP
k when i try to watch videos on youtube it doesnt work it says that this video is no longer available on like almost all the videos but if i go to my friends house or whatever we can watch them can anyone tell me what i can do??
I had this problem too! It turns out that in XP, JavaScripting is turned off by default. Here’s how to turn it back on:
* Open your internet explorer
* Click on tools, then internet options
* On the top row there should be a ’security’ button, click on that.
* On the Second row click on ‘trusted sites.’
* Click on the bottom box in front of ‘Require server verification for all sites in this zone’ and make sure the check is deselected.
* In ‘Add this Web site to the zone:’ you have to type this, exactly: Scouting.org
* Click on ‘Add’
* The web sites box should have this in it: *.scouting.org
* Click okay
* Click on ‘custom level’
* Select ALL of the enable buttons
*Click okay, then okay again
That should be it! If that doesn’t work then there may be a problem with your firewall. If there is a problem with your firewall then you can try adding it to your accepted sites from within your firewall…I can’t help you there because it would differ depending on what firewall you’re using.
You going to love me for this:
I had this problem for one month and just resolved this anomaly. I read every link above and none seemed to work.
Here’s how to definitly fix the problem.
First go to:
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166
download the uninstall tool and run it to remove all former versions of flashplayer. This will not effect Mozilla, just Internet explorer. Do not download and run the new version of Flashplayer from adobe’s website. Go to Youtube and click on any video link. when it prompts you to install the latest version of flashplayer click Okay. It will prompt you to install the latest version of activeX, just say okay and the rest will install properly. Note#1: If you try installing flashplayer 9 from adobe.com it may not (probably will not) ask to install the latest version of activeX. That’s why I could not resolve this issue for nearly a month. I kept trying to intall it from adobe.com. Note#2: once you go to youtube and click on any link and it directs you to install the latest version of flashplayer is will also include the Google tool bar unless you uncheck the Google tool bar option.
I know you will be smiling soon.

Hello Again:
Sorry for the typo’s in my last posting. I typed the last message on my 15 minute lunch break.
I hope it worked.

I just had this problem in Firefox, so if you run into this, all you need to do is:
Tools - Clear Private Data (Put check marks on: Cache & Authenticated Sessions)
Hope this helps!

Please help me my email is
i> small>(email removed) /small> /i> email me if u know whats going on????
I had exactly the same problem as you. I think I found the problem
(Oh and btw I’m using Mozilla Firefox 2.0)
For starters, try reinstalling your flash player from the Adobe website.
Once that’s done, Restart your computer.
If things don’t work (ands thats what happened with me) go to:
Tools > Options > Content > File types > Manage… > In the search area, type the two letters: fl
2 File types should appear, Choose one and then press the button: Change action
A window will pop up, and there will be 4 options, pick the first which would be: Open them with the default application: ShockwaveFlash.ShockwaveFlash
After doing that, I revisited youtube and all the videos were working smoothly.
I hope that solves your problem.
i clicked on tools then options then content, but when i clicked on content there was no file types
I suggest you switch back to Mozilla Firefox 2.0 and do as what my suggestion provides. If that doesn’t help, then I’m sorry.
ive tried everything and nothing seems to work
I had this same problem and I fixed it. Go to Tools, Internet Options, and select the Advanced tab. Under “Reset Internet Explorer settings” click Reset.
Then shut down you Internet Exporers and restart them. Worked instantly.
This did it for me. Good luck.
Yea I have the same problem, although i can use it for like 3 mnutes every three months what can i do to fix this i have even tryed all the things that every one else said, and it still won’t work.
It sounds like loads of other people have the same problem as me. HELP!!! .If anybody else can help/give me some more ideas, it would be greatly appreciated
Dan i love you
i had internet explorer and the same problems as all of you, but im just here to reiterate what someone said-
go on to the mozilla website and get the free firefox download
then use firefox and get onto youtube and there should be a yellow bar along the top install and follow the instructions - then the install flash icon comes up on your desktop and right-click to open
this should work
so now ive got both internet explorer and firefox - i use firefox for youtube and internet explorer for everything else
thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!
(song has just finished on youtube … gotta go change it!!!!!!)
I have had the similar problem of not being able to watch youtube videos cos of some javascript thing but i read somewhere that it may be caused by your antivirus software. Im currently using Norton antivirus and i have turned off Norton Security and the videos seem to work now. I’m just not sure if i want to keep this off completely…???
This is what comes up when I go to the youtube website.
Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

hi i had the same problem with you tube took me a long time to fix it i cleared all blocked sights on my windows firewall and reset to default hope its been of some help to you all
Dan you are the Man!!! Thanks buddy. What you posted worked right away.
If your YouTube is stuck with “java script” and “flash player”
messages and people are telling you change or install stuff,
DON’T TOUCH A THING!
You will get nowhere fiddling with java scripts, flash players,
firewall settings, anti-virus utilities, active X controls, pop-up
blockers or various browsers. And definitely stay away from
any software that people on this page want you to buy.
None of those things will help you, because your computer
and YouTube were working perfectly fine a while ago, right?
The first rule of thumb and best option should ALWAYS be:
don’t disable, erase, uninstall, switch, download, alter, add,
change or install anything. That’ll only make matters worse.
I am fairly sure that your “java script” and “flash player” are
fine. Nothing within YouTube has changed in the past year.
If anything, the newer “flash players”, especially version 10,
have been known to give lots of trouble to many YouTubers.
Your problem might fix itself within a couple hours or by the
next day because YouTube frequently shuts down many of
its servers every single day without telling anybody in order
to update stuff. On some of those occasions it’s YouTube’s
transmission of “java” or “flash” that’s poor, not yours.
If the following day your YouTube is still stuck and showing
you those terrible “java script” and “flash player” messages,
it is possible that your subdirectories of “temporary internet
files” and memory (many times called “cache”) are entirely
maxxed out and cannot take anymore, the end result being
that YouTube videos cannot even make it onto your screen.
“Temporary internet files” are tiny bits of webpages that get
permanently put on your computer. They will remain forever
and ever, gradually plugging up your computer just like hair
slowly clogs a sink drain until you get rid of them, or “clear
your cache” including “cookies” and “history”.
Just go to control panel-Internet options-click delete cookies

Yes, I have the exact same problem. Everything is plugged in, and everything is on. I just got a new flash Player a few days ago, and everything was working fine–and last night, everything was working on YouTube–but today, it tells me the same thing..”Hello, either you do not have javascript turned on or you do not have the latest flash player–click here to get latest flash player”..I did that, and I checked every file to make sure nothing had changed–no one touched the computer since last night–unless my clueless brother came up here after he was already downstairs on the CPU until 6 AM…so, I don’t know what to do. I love Finl Fantasy 7, and so I love watching video on YouTube–but, its not working. On Firefox nor the reg. internet–so now I can’t watch vids up here–so, what should I do? Try uninstalling then re-installing everything a 2nd time? –But wait–when I tried to download everything in the first place, it said “Cannot download file”…so, now what? Just go downstairs? Thanks..
It’s not a “fix” but a workaround. When the video stops loading and appears stuck, just click the arrow icon at the top right of the little video screen. That will open a new window and the videos will play. I have not found a true fix, but that will at least get the videos to play.
I am seriously angered, i am not a member of this website but i need some help!!!! I have the very lastest version of Internet Explorer and before I installed it, i one day went on to youtube and it came up with “Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe’s Flash Player.” so I downloaded the new Flash Player and it still does not work I went to the Adobe’s Flash Support Centre and it was absolutely no help. It has not worked for 5 months and im missing youtube. Can anyone help me?
By the way, I have turned off my pop-up blocker in the ‘tools’ setting. I have followed the steps from Adobe also.
Any help would be appreciated,
cheers.
Hello, when i go to youtube to download music videos it does a lot of buffering and sometimes it’ll take a four minute song to play and stream for fifteen minutes. can you help ?
i have had this problem i dont believe it is anything to do with java or flash since i can still watch videos on google vids some sorced from youtube can anyone help me with getting actual youtube back also im getting redirected back to the start of google when i clike on the link of a search result seems to hav started at the same time???????????????????????????????????
hello goodbye
i like turtles
OK. I don’t know if this will work for you, but it worked for me, and feels like a miracle. I all of a sudden had trouble with adobe, flash, silverlight, anything animated, basically. The problem seemed to come around the time I updated Internet explorer, which slowed my computer down hugely. the fix online told me to turn off ad-ons in internet explorer, which I did, and then went through and turned things back on to see what it was that was slowing it down. that fixed that problem.
IF you had this same problem, it MAY be that you didn’t turn ad-ons back on, which are what these things are. click on your start globe, or whatever it is, then click programs, then accessories, then internet options–here on mine it said, “internet opions, no ad-ons” so I opened that and sure enough, adobe, quick time and silverlight were all disabled. OK, now I’m going to go watch a movie. Hope it works for you.
hi all
I’m having the same problems as you with flash player and javascript and so forth so while i cannot watch videos on youtube there is still another way:
For some reason, youtubex (video downloadx) cannot open and save the URL’s i give it from youtube, however, google ‘keepvid’ and open the first link which should take you to keepvid’s website. Simply paste the url from youtube into their bar and click download. Sometimes you’ll have to enter those funny security words but after that you will have the option of downloading the video in flv. form or in mp4 format. That should help with youtube videos, however THIS IS NOT A FIX FOR THE FLASH PLAYER BUGS.
YouTube was working just fine up until the past few days. Now there’s just a blank black screen with no play/pause button…no volume, nothing. I can’t watch anything on it, and this has coincided with the YouTube format change. So I guess I haven’t got something to view the content…but I don’t know what because I have adobe and this is reeeeally annoying me.
i had some of the problems mentioned above…and i was messing around with the internet options till i found the solution and you tube was working again..
i have IE, i went to tools, internet options, then to the tab which indicates (prgrams), underneath that is (manage add-ons). click on (manage add-ons) and then you should get a list.
click on (flash shockwave object) and at the bottom the enable and disable should light up..if it was disabelled this is why it wasent working so activate that and also activate (microsoft silverlight)..thats what solved my problem hope this helped ..
my youtube is not working.. the text are in the left side of my browser, and if i open a video, it wont play and buffer….
i have the latest flash and my javascript is enabled.
please help
Does your computer have any imply for the problem?
Anyway, you can install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player, and enable the JavaScript option for your browser, or try the HTML5 version of YouTube.
I Uninstalled Adobe Flash Player 10.1 And Java.
