Hello my name is Bobby I have a beautiful 4 year old daughter she is the best thing to happen to me.

I thrive daily to show her the love and attention that she deserves. She is so intelligent and continues to amaze me with how much she has grown up. I love people in the world im thankful for every breath that im given, I am thankful for my family, kind people, and my brothers in the armed forces. I had a struggling past and try to drive myself forward to avoid the horrors of times past, I recently was given a cat in which I gave to my beloved daughter. We named him chester, but she calls him cheddar because of his orange coat. She loves her cheddar! We have just recently had some trouble though, I came outside to crank up the car one morning to heat it up. When I turned the ignition over to start I heard a loud thump and then a screeching squeal. To my suprise chester was laying up inside the motor with his leg exposed to the fan. The fan cut off all but a peice of tissue of his leg. I never cried so hard, it hurt my heart to even think of my daughters expression when she was to find out. Well I told her he got hurt and daddy had to take him to the hospital. Im so worried now because the vet is telling me he will not be able to keep his leg, and soeing him up is going to cost me $550.00, the alternative is putting him to sleep! I am gettin chills right now thinking about my daughter and her reaction! Chester is the best pet we have ever had, and he makes my daughter so happy its unreal. He is a light in our lives and I have drove myself half way crazy thinking of what to do but im stuck. I am not financially eqipped to handle the bill! I joined this site to ask for help, so I am asking anyone willing to help, help me save chesters life, any donations will help even pennies! We have until 11/10/07 to come up with the money or he will be put to sleep! Please help save his life, I thankyou for your time and god bless america!

You can also try your luck at online charities, people may send donations. More information at http://www.laodn.org/

So sorry about your cat. I don’t have money to give you, but can I suggest that you try posting this at http://digitalcharity.com, http://www.cyberbeg.com, http://my-donation.com or http://www.modestneeds.org .

Poor kitty.

DO NOT sacrifice your family for the life a cat. I am not unsympathetic to you situation, and I love animals, but if the expense of helping the cat is too much and will impact you paying a bill you are responsible to pay, then assist the poor animal in ending it’s pain and misery.

We, for some reason, want to shelter the death experience from our children. Death is a part of life and I believe that children should be exposed to it’s sadness. And taught that sadness is a part of life, but that we must remember all the joy that person (in this case, cat) brought into our lives.

I think we underestimate our children’s ability to deal with this… It’s been my experience a new pet… allows for acceptance to come in the grief process very quickly.

May I ask what the vet did with him now? If he did not close the wound in some way, the cat would bleed to death wouldn’t it???
It’s not like he can put a band aid on him. Why don’t you call other vets, and tell this one to go to hell. Did he become a vet to help animals or just for the money?? What a @#^#!!*^… Can’t you try to go to the animal shelter? They mostly have vets they work with that will help the animal for not so much money (c’mon, sowing up a leg does NOT cost 500 US$…this guy is ripping you off I tell ya.)
And maybe you can work out monthly payments for him.
Also: try selling stuff on ebay, explaining your situation, there are many people on there that would buy from you for the good cause.
I hope you will manage to find a way…
