How do you whistle?

I’ve tried and tried…. oh lord, will I ever be able to whistle?

It wasn’t that easy when I first tried it, Anon. Now, I can whistle though. It takes practice, Anon Poster. Pucker up your lips and lightly blow. It shouldn’t sound like air that much at all. It’s like you’re sucking air, only sucking it OUT. :S Yes, confusing.

Hmm, I can whistle quite happily whilst sucking ~in~ air.

The secret lies in getting your lips and teeth placed in the correct position, which is most easily achieved through practise. If one stance doesn’t work, try another… and another… and another.

Oh, I noticed that too! That you can whistle sucking in, that is. I usually sound exactly like a teakettle when I do. :D
