Where do I begin?
I’m just not sure what to do…with anything, really. I have so much work to do all the time and all I really want to ever do is play guitar, write short stories, sleep and play with my children. I am confused and overwhelmed and so help.

what’s your job…it sounds like you might be unhappy with your occupation if you enjoy playing guitar and writing maybe you would be happier with working in amore creative field. unless that’s not your problem…i’m not sure waht else to say becuase your description is to vague to pick an otherwise root of the problem
A professor knew that some of his students were having some study habit issues… and new that most of it was about time management. So one day he showed up to class prepared to give the students a lecture on time management. He stood up before the class with 4 containers… all of which were the same size. One container was empty… one container had large river rocks in it… another had small pea-gravel, and the last was half full of sand. The professor began… “Todays lesson is about time management”, he began, ” I need to know how can we get all three of these containers into the one empty one”. Everyone had their own ideas; most thought it would be impossible. “Put the sand in first”, someone said, and most agreed. But after doing that and filling the empty container half way up, they realized that they would never be able to get all the rocks in… “No”, said the professor, “there is only one way to get all this material into the empty container”. With that said the professor took the container full of the larger river rocks, “these are your larger problems and issues. You always want to deal with them first. By dealing with them first you accomplish two things… first you build self confidence upon your accomplishments, and second you will probably accomplish some of your smaller issues as well”. So he turned to the smaller gravel and sand containers and poured a little of the material out… “These are your smaller issues”, he said refering to the smaller gravel and sand. So, after completeing your big problems you have to tackle the next biggest issues…. he took the pea-gravel and poured it into the container of rocks. The class watched as the gravel “filtered” down around the big rocks…. then he poured in the sand, “and finally he said… those tiny nagging issues, that are not that important… but you want to get them done… laundry, dishes.. that sort of thing”. The class watched the sand pour in and slip easily around the large rocks… past the gravel, filling the empty spaces in the container until the entire container was full. The professer had put 3 containers full of materials into ONE! The class, which were incredulous as first, were amazed.
So it is with our lives. We must tackle those biggest issues first… the ones that we stand to gain the most from. Then move on to the next and next until we can fill the container… .this consept crosses all borders from career time management to scholarly study habits, to household chores…
As a very wish man once said….
“If you have alot of frogs to eat, you eat the biggest frogs first!”
bright blessings ~

What type of job do you have? Are you working more hours then you want to? Is it high stress and spills over into your personal time? Maybe you need a career change?
and if you can afford to do that ,then just play the gibson or fender and play with youre children and write short storys, otherwise combine all the things together and give each of the things some time…..
it might help to create a work schedule or just get more organized. Use work as a inspiration for your writing.
