Don’t think like that! If they’re real friends, or if they truly mattered to you, they wouldn’t care if you were calling them from a long distance. I’d only advice you try to keep in touch with a few of them, and not them all. It can be difficult to get a whole group of friends from a different state to keep in touch. Remember, you do live somewhere else, and it’s good to move on at some point. But at the same time, don’t hesitate to keep in touch with that small circle or special few who you could never pull yourself away from.

If you guys are friends, I don’t think they’ll mind at all if you called them! In fact, I guarantee they miss you terribly and want to keep in touch. And as Anonymous said, it would be tough to keep up with them all—try to stay close to, well, your closest Iowa friends. :)

Oh! Well, that changes EVERYTHING. If you’re moving back, then definatly keep in touch with them. Well, I shouldn’t be so quick… you said you might be moving back. If you’re not sure, and it looks like it’ll take a while until you go back home, then I’d say treat it as if you’re not going back, even though you might. But if it looks like you’ll be back soon (in a matter of months), then I don’t think it’s too far fetched to stratle to keep in touch with plenty of them and contacting them routinely, maybe over the weekends. Regardless of what you end up doing, just don’t spend too much time worrying or thinking about them; while you’re in (what it looks like) California, don’t be afraid to open up and meet some new people, you never know who you’ll bump into while you’re here.

Then whatchya killing for? If you’ve got good friends already, and you’re only missing some from Iowa, just keep in touch with those special few and stick with the ones you’ve got now. You sound like you’ve got a way to make friends with people, and it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for you. I think you’re good, don’t fret.

Well, you should always keep on calling them at least once every 2-3 weeks. You need to sustain your friendship or it will vanish and disappear. Even if you never find them, always try!
