I got a job when I was fourteen. I had to get a work permit. There are a ton of things you can do at fourteen, though. You can babysit, do light housework, run errands, deliver papers, tutor after school….

Yep, find some family friends and see if they need some help with things. Just like what heatherfeather said.

-odd jobs in your neighborhood are great because you can negotiate your own hours and pay.
-do you have a skill, like can you build websites or help non-techies with computer stuff?
-can you tutor kids in math or something, maybe at the library or after school program?
-can you play an instrument? maybe you could play music in a church for a fee?
-do you like elderly people, maybe you can help the elderly people in your neighborhood with their errands.
-can you walk dogs? can you have a service that cleans peoples backyard doggie poop (eww, but charge alot)
i have been self-employed my whole life. there are ways to make something out of nothing, it’s true.
you can get a foodservice liscence and a work permit and get a regular old day job, but being self employed gives you more power.
