Is there any one that can explain about Wicca.

My friend and i were talking and i noticed she was upset and i asked her what was up. She told me that she was reading something on her computer when her mom walked in her room and saw what she was reading. Her mom said to close it and not read that stuff because it was bad. But my friend said it want.
I asked her what it was she was reading and she said that she was learning about Wicca because she was interested.
Can any one explain more about it or something to understand my friend?

wicca’s kind of a little witch-crafty from what i understand, but it focuses a lot on nature. it is good to be interested in you can learn a lot from it, there are some good values in respecting nature and stuff.

Wicca in a nutshell..

Wicca stems from the old beliefs in spirituality. Before the organization of the Christian church.

Typically the belief held that many gods and goddesses were present. (Polythiesm)

Around the 60’s, “Wicca” was half-hazardly organized into an idea. I say half-hazardly because it is unorganized and non-corforming as other religious beliefs.

Wicca now typicaly is the belief in your choice of god/gods/goddesses. There is a real emphasis on nature, and respect for all aspects of life. A tenant of the wiccan belief is “An it harm none, do as thou wilt” similar to “Do unto others as you will have done unto you”.

Wicca also goes under the name of Witchcraft, as many wiccans believe in “spell work”. When I studied wicca, I saw spells as more of a prayer in action. Some people claim to be able to do metaphysical things through spell work, but in general I didn’t feel that was possible.

True wiccan belief is something I found very comforting, it valued respect for everyone and everything. A lot of bad connotation has been given to the idea due to Hollywood portrayals, and many people’s lack of understanding of it. Many people think that it is “Satan worship”. But to argue against that, the wiccan belief does not typically include Satan.

Good luck with arguing with the parents of your friend though. My advice is for your friend to be weary of the information he/she recieves, but at the same time look into forms of spirituality. As long as she has good intentions, she could find a lot of good in all walks of life.

It’s based in Paganism. If you want more info, you can look that up as well.

It’s a little complicated. I suggest you look it up online. Try witchonthego.com
It has a short overview of Wicca. As a practitioner of the Craft I can tell you that it is nature-based and anything but ‘bad’.
