I have played violin for 12 years. I used to hate the conformity of classical music, but embrace it now.

i like it. i listen to mozart or bach at bedtime and sometimes when i study. i play classical piano. but like most genres i go through phases. sometimes i am so sick of it, usually when i am getting it crammed down my throat at school.

Magicmuffin, I agree with you there. I had classical forced on me throughout HS. I wanted to also play bluegrass and tradition Irish stuff, which on the violin, takes on a whole new arena of postures, stances and animations in the body. Folk was so much more focused on the fun.
