Buy a gift certificate, or make one an IOU, and then let him buy it himself. I would advise against buying something that expensive when you are uncertain of what it is he may really want.

You might not know how it works but your boyfriend might. Make sure you have enough money and worts comes to worst you might have to ask the guy you bought it from.

The iBook is the less-expensive option, and really isn’t a machine that is geared for more than just emailing, chatting, using the web and basic computing (writing, creating presentations, business, etc.)

The Powerbooks/MacBook Pro computers are geared more for high-end design. If he’s going to be using illustrator and a lot of the Adobe design applications for pattern-making, scanning and such, he’d want at least a MacBook Pro.

I think what you should do is to go to any computer shop and tell them your problem they will then help you please do it.

I have to agree with mlyukamathe. Find an outlet that sells Apple and check with the sales person. It may boil down to how much you can afford. I imagine he will be happy with anything you decide…

Good Luck Ron

You should see how many Macs I’ve sold while just standing around the Apple section in CompUSA while the workers were away… :)
