I am trying to create a dynamic web site.

I have aquired several different scripts but cannot upload them to my web page. The one I really want to use is a phpscript. My hosting account has MySQL and SQL however I don’t know how to get the script from my computer to the web site. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but any help would be greatly appreciated.

If PHP and SQL are on the server for your web sight, then uploading the script should be no different then uploading anything else. Its just text just as HTML is just text. It is what the server and client do with that text that makes a difference.

The only except could be is if your server provider blocks the up login of .PHP extensions. But if they offer SQL and PHP use that would seem unlikely.

Does your server provider even have PHP on the server?

Thank you for your suggestion. I am sorry but I don’t have any information on how to prevent getting shocked.

My hosting account does have MySQL (which works with php). I also have access to ftp uploading as well. I’m just not sure which one I’m supposed to use. I’m very new to this “uploading” and really appreciate the help.
Thank you,
Elaine

Which one of what?

If you want to upload via FTP you need to download a program like this:

http://www.sofotex.com/FTP-Uploader-d…

and set it up acording to what your host tells you.

What I usually do is create a directory on my host account such as CGIBIN. Then I FTP my Pix, backgrounds, banners and music to the youraccountname/cgibin. Then FTP my main.php or index.php to the main account directory. When you create your PHP program design it to call your parts from cgibin (or whatever you want to call it). Page 2 through page N can also be loaded to cgibin. To do this create this create a mock website on your computer. Then just FTP the parts to your host computer. If you don’t have an HTML editor try STONES HTML EDITOR. Don’t forget you can also call items from internet sites. That’s OK until their site goes black, but it’s better then steeling…

Good luck Ron
