see if any of your local churches or clubs american legion or elks or mooses are have angel trees (they place info about the child on a ornament on a tree at department stores and cutomers that are able to select an ornament and pick up gifts for said child on ornament and leave gifts at customer service desk that then gives to organization to wrap and deliver to the families in time for christmas )even see about contacting the salvation army i did an internship there and we would do project bundle up and thanks giving and christmas baskets with dinner fixings there should be something like this in your area

Hi I have a family of four and me and my husband both have been laid off from our jobs as well. It is hard for the both us trying to feed, clothe and pay our bills. My children is in need for christmas this year We have a fourteen year old daughter and a nine year old son and they both are looking for items for christmas and it is hard to explain to them that christmas will be limited.

I am in the same situation, my husband was just wrongfully terminated from his job, and I know you prob here that alot but he seriously was, and we are trying to fight I have 5 children one of them are disabled, and now we ca;t even get his meds. I have tried every where but because it is so close to the holidays they are not able to help I am at the point I am just gonna give up on everything…………………

like you our family of 6 4 kids under the age of 13 is trying to understand the the same thing. me and my wife both haves jobs but yet we dont have a dime to even buy food to keep in the frid. we have not have gas in our house sence last nov. and now my water got shut off but we keep going on.i stay up all night to think what went wrong and what i can do to fix it but come up with notthing,i truly know what and how you are going though, for years we would help out with our county to help buy christmas gifts for the kids who dont get anything and now i cant even get health cover or food stamps for my kids i truely with you and your family the best of luck and always remember that you have eachother and that is what keeping me going god bless you and yours and i hope you find some kind of happieness. christopher hurst

I too am looking for help here in Illinois I have tryed to get help with the angle tree churches and other places to help get things for me two daughters a 5 year old and a 9 year old. I was to late for the angle tree and I can not get help from any of the churches. We did not even have the money or the food for the Thanksgiving this year. I have not worked for two years and fighting to get on Dissability but will have to wait for 22 months to get in front of one of their Judges. So I will not have help this year. My wife is on Dissability but they put someone over her money she can not even get any of it to help out just pay the rent and Bills. Alot of people need help when it comes to the holidays and the only thing I can say is keep trying and hope that God sends you some help.

Hello, My son and I will not have a Christmas this year. I’m still playing catch up on the bills. I just found out a few months ago that my husband was on crack cocaine. I’m in the process of moving and the new house that me and my son will be moving into does not have a stove or a refigerator. I have to find both of them first. I dont have the money to send my son to a daycare. So, I have decided to try to work from home. I’ve been going to the libray on popular. I found a job a real job that I can work from home. I have got to try to save some money fro a computer. I have been going to walmart, kmart, target, and best buy to price a computer. They are very expensive to me. I just got married March 27th of this year. As soon as I said I do that’s when my husband began to start stealing from me and my son. Taking all of the bill money. I dont want to get on welfare. That’s why I need some help with purchasing a computer. So, I will be able to take care of my son. I had to put my husband out of my home because it got to they point that he wanted to put his hands on me. The only thing I could think about is my son seeing me getting abused. It was not a hard decision to make for me. Because I love my son more than I love my husband. I know most women in my situtation this would be a hard decision to make. When I heard my son yelling and scareming for me that was enough for me.

I just want the opportunity to start a fresh start for me and my son. My son is only 16 months old. So, I have a long way to go. I believe that I have a preacher on my hands. If so I want to be able to provide the best for him.

Hi, I was just surfing the internet and read your story. I am sorry that you are having a difficult time. I wish there was a miracle that could take place for you at this moment.
I know this may be strange, but I have an opportunity of a lifetime that you will never have to go back to this sad place your in.
This is no sales call, or investment etc…just sharing a chance to turn your life around. There isn’t any answer today, but what about next year at Christmas? Do you really want to be in the same place?

I am a mother of two young boys under three and they are my little treasures and I know how hard this may be for you right now. We aren’t well off right now either and we are just lucky that they are at the age where they don’t understand.
If I don’t hear from you, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas. I think that creating a Christmas that is traditional would be the answer. Making cards and doing a gift exchange of why you love one another. Perhaps, make it in to a surprise in the cards etc…just get creative and tell them that Christmas is more about traditional giving. this could be your best Christmas ever.

I just have to keep my head up and keep god first. I can’t go wrong. It’s just that it seem the harder that I try to do the right thing thats when another optical comes my way. But, I know that I’m a very strong individual and I can’t give up I have a little man to rise. He depends on my every move and make that I make. My heart goes out to all who have posted on here. I too am at a loss of how to tell my children that Santa will not be visiting our house this year. I have 5 children, my 3 teenagers understand but I have 4 year old twin daughters that do not. My heart breaks everytime they ask if it’s time for Santa to come soon because I know I can not afford to even put one single toy or article of clothing under the tree for them this year. often I just want to cry because they look at me with bright, hopeful eyes and ask when Santa is coming. I have tried to explain that Santa might not be able to come to our house this year, but they do not understand. I will keep all of you in my prayers, it is a hard year for many. God bless.
