You can’t have an angle of 1 point and 3 lines that isn’t 360.

right. so bc is a segment of a circle? where does the rightangled triangle come into it then? unless that is the segment with the circumference section cut off with a chord, but that seems unlikely.

Segment BC is one of the three sides of the right triangle. I’m trying to find the circumference of the circle inscribed in the triangle.

oh right.
as in, line segment.

what is BAC? you can’t have an angle that isnt = 360 that has 3 lines.

but somehow you need to find the diameter. then the circumference is just pi x diameter.
try drawing it?

what is the diameter? the square root of 3? the square root of 3-1? the square root of 3-1/2? the square root of 2-1? or is it just pi over 2? which sounds best to you?

sorry we havent done that yet. im only 13. but if you just work out the distance from one to the other at the shortest space or medium or somewhere thats the diameter

thanks for trying. I’m only 13 too and we’re just starting this stuff. this is a problem on a test I took at Math Day. I was just curious as to how to do it.

Here, I made you an image with the info you need to work the problem.

(Because an illustration is easier to understand)

See if you can obtain the answer with that. If not, write back and I’ll show you the steps.
