My Boyfirend has a probation officer that doesn’t seem to want to help him.

Is there a way he can change his probation officer, or is there someone we can talk to to see about making changes to the current one he has?

Im sorry to tell you this but almost every probation officer out there isnt there to help out the person on probabtion. Their main role is to make sure the person on probabtion checks in when hes scheduled to, and to check on his drug tests (if he has any). Theyre basically just an extension of the courts, their job is enforcement, not assistance.
thats not to say that some P.O.’s dont help, because there are those rare few that actually want to see the person on probation succeed, but dont count on it

well, i think your telling the wrong person…i work with them all the time, and one of my closest friends is a PO..and trust me when i say, they want to see you fail. Ive seen decent kids who were really trying their hardest to get their shyt together and the PO just through them under the bus (figuratively) by telling the judge that the kids violated their probation for the smallest of infractions which i thought was absolutely ridiculous

its how they get their thrill on the job..just like ive been guilty a few times of giving a suspect the chance to run away..just for the thrill of the chase..turn your back accidentally for a second or 2 and whoops…hes running away :) game on!!

i have a theory that most Probation officers are so bitter because they never could make it as a Police officer, just a theory though
