A Rediculous sadness?

So my adorable little hamster, Yoshi died tonight. Now I’m sad. I feel kind of silly mourning over a hamster though. I know they don’t live very long, but I hadn’t even had her a whole year… and I loved her… I feel so guilty just putting her in a box and throwing her in the trash… I’m going to miss her… her squeaky wheel, watching her scale her cage… sharing food with her, letting her roll around the house in her ball… Yes… I’m going to miss my little baby girl Yoshi.
RIP sweetie…

I am sorry for your loss. It is not silly to mourn for something you cared about regardless what it is. You becomes attached to these types of things and it is important to mourn. Mourning is healthy and apart of moving on.

sorry to hear about yoshi, she looked very nice.
How about to bury the hamster somewhere nice, where you can visit and have happy memories?

I would… but I don’t think I could find a place to do that… and I live on rented property, I don’t think the owners would appreciate me digging up teh back yard.

im really sorry, and it’s not silly at all to mourn for yoshi. she seems really sweet. you could still bury her in a park or something, somewhere with a nice view, or with flowers or something so you know where she is. I would be devastated if my cat or dog died!

Oh, so sorry daniel, my son’s hamster harry died a couple of years ago, too soon as well. it was horrible we watched him gasp his last breath. gave harry a funeral, buried him in the backyard next to the other birds, fish, lizards, turtles, and more, cried, and we still talk about him today. i have an offer for you, and i’m not kidding. i have moved from a huge home into an apartment while going through a divorce nightmare. my son’s chinchilla “mr. whiskers, and my 15 year old lhasa “bugsy” are here as well. i gave in to my son at his request for a 2nd chinchilla, and roomate for mr. whiskers. i knew it was a mistake, and tried to convince my son that mr. whiskers would not be interested in a young new mate, and would kick it’s butt! yep! so now we have a huge condo for these chinchilla’s in a small apartment, and yet the old cage for mr. whiskers to boot!!it is just too much and need to simplify right now. i need to break the news to my son first, but i would like to give you our new chinchilla “chinta”. she is absolutely adorable(he) cost $100.00, and they live 20-30 years!!! yes it’s true. they are like a large hampster with a fur coat!!!

Thats very nice of you to offer your chinchilla but i actually just bought one a couple months ago for my boyfriend so i can’t afford another one right now. not to mention i don’t think i would have enough time to give it the attaention a chinchilla needs… they are pretty high meintenence… i think the cuteness makes up for it sometimes though… hehe. i hope you can find a new home for her though… try craigslist… thats where i found my boyfriend’s and she is a sweetie. thanks again!

I’m really sorry about your hamster. I just had to put my dog down because she had cancer…it was very tough. I had her for 13 years. It’s hard at first, but it gets easier. And no…it isn’t silly to mourn over her, it’s perfectly normal.

Your welcome, and print out one of those adorable pictures of your lil guy, put it in a frame. and smile everytime you glance apon it. i think you should get another one, though short lived, i think it is the perfect pet for you, and will keep your loving, and caring light burning. just wait until you have a child, husband, dog, fish, bird, lizard, another dog, more fish, hamsters, chinchillas, and this crazy thing called, life to top it off!!!
