Do friends of opposite sex give each other xmas gifts?

Honestly, i’m not sure, cause i’ve never really had a friend before who happens to be female. I never get any of my buddys Christmas gifts, just my family. But what do you do for a friend who is a girl? I’m asking because I found a really awesome gift for her (a digital photo frame that, I wanna put pictures all of her senior year in HS), but I don’t want her to get wrong impressions or feel like she needs to get me somthing.
