Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
You can talk to a recruiter but first talk to your parents and your loved ones and also see if you really want a life of military service.
I served once i want to do it agian
be very careful with recruiters and always remember that they have an agenda… do not sign up right after you talk to them.. think about it. REALLY think about it. its a big step
i have served for 6 years received an honorable discharge and am wanting back in… what katie said is very true
I am active duty Marine Corps…5 years so far. It’s got it’s ups and downs for sure. Just do your research and make sure that you REALLY want to do it. Don’t trust everything a recruiter tells you, and make sure everythign you want is in your contract BEFORE you sign it…job preferences, a good enlistment bonus…etc.
Any specific questions, please ask.
OPWM I see that no one is understanding that you ARE prior service. You are trying to re-enlist, what are your questions?
Oh…go talk to a PSR (prior service recruiter). Your local recruiting station can refer you to them.
I need a waiver to re-enter the service and needing to know where and how to go about getting one
Depends on what you are trying to waive. Medical? RE code?
i have a RE code of 3 and it says i need a waiver to re-enter.
What branch are you leaving, and what branch are you enlisting into?
I left the Army National Guard and I am wanting to enlist into the Marines
I don’t want to sound nosey, but why an RE3?
If you need a waiver for that, I would think that your actions were a little questionable therefore you need to convince your new recruiter to your level of commitment.
Essentially you should take your DD-214 and talk to the Marine Corps recruiter. He will guide you to get the waiver. Otherwise you can appeal to the National Guard through writing to change your RE code, but that takes a bit of time.
Have you talked to the Corps recruiter?
yes I have, The RE3 is the code in which states I can not re-enlist the service with out a waiver but I can re-enlist with one. It doesn’t mean I cannot join just means it will be a bit harder.
I know that, but you have to understand that they aren’t just going to give you a waiver and say you are good to go. You need to be sure and show your recruiter your level of commitment.
What has your recruiter suggested to do? He/she should be helping you to process your waiver.
Those with an RE Code of “3″ may be allowed to enlist, with a waiver, if they can show that the reason for discharge no longer applies. Such waivers are granted through the individual services through military recruiters, not the DRB process.
The recruiter I have been talking too really isn’t much help at all. He is basicly making me do it all on my own. I have been contacting everyone I can posibly think of trying to get some positive resaults.
Tried Military.com?

CPO Kalbach is a USCG recruiter, but moderates this post. He is very short with his answers, so be specific.
He is going to tell you to go to your recruiter. That is the only person who can really help you. If you can’t get that recruiter to get anything done, go to another recruiting station and/or call another recruiter in another town. The Marine recruiters in Mt. Pleasant, MI are really cool guys who were helpful for me.. you can give that a try.
Thanks I will see what I can do to make more progress. Thanks for your help.
www.military.about.com is a great website too. Hang in there, you know how the military is hurry up and wait.
ahaha hha what do you wanna know… I’m next to Langley AFB VA
