yay, coz it has been done over here and it has made suuuuch a difference!
lol eloquently put xeno…im not sure where i stand. I dont smoke cigaretes and i do admit that it is somewhat bothersome to have smoking all around me sometimes but on the other hand im not sure if people shouldnt be allowed to smoke in public places when they want to
We have one in Fort Wayne, IN. But first they made all the resturants build on or in a smoking place in there building, now they have wasted all that money, they ban smoking indoors everywhere, what a rip off for the people who built the smoking rooms.
I don’t smoke, but I think it is stupid, the smoke ban, if you have assingned place to do it in, or if your in a club/bar for over 21’s
Clove smokes are nice, mellow smoke they sell them here.
uhm… whats it supposed to acheive? its just annoying for people who do smoke, people who dont smoke dont need to stand right next to a smoker and whinge about it.
you cant respect others air space.. sound selfish.. not whiney
If you don’t like it, hold your breath for the three seconds it takes to walk past them.
i mean more in bars and resturants. I dont mean outside so much,
I think bars should allow it, and retaurants should have outdoor seating for smokers.
yeah but bars still have people crammed into them, a lot of which are non smokers?
here in arizona you dont even have a smoking section anymore. There is not supposed to be any smoking except by specific areas that have signs by them. (pretty much just outside)
I agree,

Then don’t go to the smokey bar if you don’t like the smoke.
why what?
we have a smoke ban inside places.. smoke outside alll you want…
I remember when I was young and smoked, I got jobs where you could smoke, like a bar, or once at a spirits store. So the clubs are over 21 and you have free will.
Well, Sophie, if someone is willing to tell other people to stop doing something in public, they shouldn’t be surprised if they’re asked to stop doing something in public.
smoking kills.. clean air doesnot
smoke away from me all you want…. not in a place im dining at
public is public its not just a few who are no smokers ,i know gave up 3years ago people looked at me like i was from another world when i was smoking no discrimination in public please, next they try to ban f-a-r-t-i-n-g what next…..
so even if it causes people ill health whether they smoke or not it still shouldnt be band? Thats jus mad!
to ban smoking means to shut all factories ,by all, i mean every one on this planet ,do you believe in Santa?????
wow….just wow…
Smoker for smoking ban. Denver is a publicly smoking ban state. I voted for the measure too, I also voted for higher cig taxes for the fact that the measure stated that it would send those taxes into the healthcare system for uninsured children.
It should be safe for everyone to go to a public building or establishment. As the population of nonsmokers increases it only makes sense. When I go to the bar out here in VA (no smoking ban) only a small percentage of smokers are there.
Fact is we all know it is unhealthy and a pain in the butt. Maybe if we slowly make it harder and harder to smoke, then we can all get that much closer to quiting.
thanks rocky mountain coastie…i think i like your response the best…you explained it well..
not saying to everyone that i agree 100% on his/her opinion but it was well stated
yeah! it’s bad example for teens, staff working in bars (and the like) suffer, many other reasons. in my country it’s banned, and me, as a non-smoker, is pretty happy :P
btw, a night club smoke-free!!! ummm… that was sth unbelievable firsttime when i get in! :)
My city’s banned smoking inside restaurants and bars. A couple years ago, about every restaurant had a smoking section inside, which really made no difference at all when it came to stopping 2nd hand smoke. So they got rid of it altogether, but smoking outside and **** is allowed. And if you’re seen ditching a cigarette butt on the sidewalk or something, you ge fined ALOT of money. meh, I think it’s a fair system, even though i smoke. I got no right to impose my smoke onto anyone else.
Well im glad theres some smokers out there who feel the same as u moniker.
Nay…If they are going to ban smoking then why don’t we just have prohibition again. Because the facts are that drunk driving kills more people per year than cigarrettes that is a fact.

Nope, my cigarette packs have these statistics on them where it goes “deaths per year by homicide: some number, deaths per year by car accidents: some number, and some other ones I forget (hey there’s my excuse to go by a new pack lol), but the deaths per year by the cigarettes is always the highest. And I don’t think anyone really wants to ban smoking alltogether, just protect people who don’t smoke from it. Like, you have the right to smoke, but you should also have the right FROM smoke.
doesnt matter if drink driving kills more people, unfortunately its a bit more difficult to stop drink driving but it is a lot easier to stop smoking in bars and clubs so at least some people are being saved.
