If you don’t have a credit history, you won’t be able to get a credit card. You can start building your credit history by opening a checking or savings account. Most banks will let you open an account without a previous credit history. Just go into a local bank and explain your situation - a teller should be able to recommend an account to start you out. Other things that will help establish your credit: having a job (the longer you have the same job and the more money you make, the better your credit) and paying rent on an apartment or house (just be sure that the lease is in your name). It can take a long time to establish a good credit history - just remember that credit card companies are looking for signs that you are stable, pay your bills, and have some money.

Banks dont require a credit history when opening a savings account. Take $100.00 to any bank you wish and open a savings accunt. In three months take another $100.00 and open a cheking account. Now heres the catch NEVER wright a bad check, if you dont have money in your accunt dont wright a check. Within 6 months you should start receiving credit card applications. Remember intrest rates on credit cards is really high and if you default on payment your history is toast. Hope this helps :-)
