Little Question about Christianity…
Somewhere in the bible it imply that God is great yeah?
And it also implies that we can do what we want? Do you know why we can chose our own path?
Why are we allowed to follow the evil side?
Humm, i had another question but forgot.
Please Note: I am Catholic Latin Rite.

We’re “allowed” to go one way or the other because God created us with free will. He created us to love Him, not be His personal slaves. Love, as explained in the book of Ephesians, is a choice and a conscious decision, not an automatic impulse. Simply put, God created humans who could choose to love Him, and not robots to do His bidding.
Well, many people have argued this, and the reason I hear most of the time is that God didn’t think it would be fair or right if He or She didn’t give the creatures that He or She loves choices and the freedom to make their own decisions. I hear that God will do everything in his or her power (short of forcing you) to try and warn you and stop you from going down the evil or self-destructive path, but in the end it’s up to the individual. And also, Satan is to blame for tempting people with the wrong path. I don’t believe nor disbelieve in God, but if there is one, I doubt any of the religious texts we have are truly His or Her’s own words and own wills. If anything, it’s more likely the Bible, Torah, Quran and all those other ones were written by Satan :P
Im curious though, why did you choose to become a Catholic Latin Rite? I’ll admit I’ve never heard of that religion. I’d like to learn about it from someone who actually is one. What issues are you concerned about? What are your beliefs?

isn’t it roman catholic?,lol
See, I don’t get the difference between Roman Catholic, Catholic, Christian, Prodestant, etc. Don’t they all believe the same stuff?
well, i think of life as a test and if you love God with all your heart and follow the ‘right’ path then that makes you a better person then if he was to force you to do the right thing. its like making a kid say sorry. you can force them to say it but it doesnt count until they actually mean it. you have to go to Him with open arms instead of Him dragging you to him. He shows us the signs to right path but u r the driver and you have to make the choice if you wanna go down that path or not.

@Moniker:
To start, I don’t think Satan wrote the religious texts. The traditional belief in Christianity is that humans wrote the Bible (which includes the Torah, by the way), and while they were doing so, they were directly inspired by God. Some authors of the sixty-six books within claim to have heard from God directly, such as Moses (who is commonly held to have written the Torah) and John (who wrote Revelation). Others were inspired by His works or blessings, such as the miscellaneous authors of Psalms or the authors of the four Gospels.
As far as the difference between Roman Catholic, Protestant, etc., is that while they all believe in the same core value (Jesus is the Messiah/Christ), they have different doctrinal beliefs, such as the outcome of one’s life (Heaven, Hell, Purgatory), how one should worship (loud music & dancing, organs & piano only), and a host of other subtle differences (how one should be baptized, how one should take communion, etc.). Basically, the options are there for personal preference.
Personally, I don’t follow suit with any particular denomination, and honesty am against the whole idea. Catholicism and the subsequent Protestant churches are, in my opinion, all wrong and aren’t what Christ had in mind when He came to save us. Christ did not come to set up a religion. In fact, He came to tear down the walls of religion and set up one-on-one communication with God, something we lost aeons ago. But then, that’s just me.
That’s the thing about the Bible. It’s open to many different interpretations. The important thing is to understand the core values, and that is belief is Christ.
Like everyone else said, we were given free will. If we didn’t have free will, we’d be mindless walking zombies that do what God says. It’s like if you created a robot programmed to love you, you can’t tell if it’s true love or just saying that they love you because you made them with that program.
God gave us free will so He could see if we could follow Him and love Him by choice.
.the curtian in the holy tabernacle was torn in two so man shall have communion with god without the aid of the priest
god creates the god and the bad ,satan tempts because god allows it.however the bible states that we fight not man or beast but principalities and powers spiritual wickedness in high places

Lol, don’t worry, I don’t think so either, I was making a bad attempt at a light-hearted joke. But when you think about it, if Satan loves war and misery, and most wars and misery come from fighting over the Bible/religion, doesn’t it make perfect sense it was invented by Satan? I don’t actually believe that, but it’s interesting to think about, in my opinion.
Anyways, I think that if God really had something to say to us, He or She would’ve done so themselves, rather than through such a volatile and flawed thing as humans.
God gave jesus authority over his works therfore establishing a new structure or way, hence why there is an old testament and a new testament in all christion bibles
@ Moniker
Oh! Ha! Sorry, I’m bad at picking up e-sarcasm. :P
And I understand where you’re coming from regarding God talking through humans. However, if you read the creation story in Genesis, we do see that God had full communication with Adam & Eve. But since they let sin enter the world by eating the proverbial fruit (I don’t believe it was a literal fruit), that communication was severed. That is, until Christ came and died and came back to life. Christ’s purpose was to restore that communication. Thus, if you believe in Christ, you effectively have a restored “link,” if you will, to God.
Also, the fact that God came to us as a human (Jesus) lets us know that He does truly care about us as humans, and that He was willing to let go of His full divinity and be just a regular joe schmoe. It’d be like if you or I decided to become ants to save the anthill. Somehow it was put in our hearts to love those ants, and we figured we should become like them to save them.
Throughout the Bible, God uses regular people, and even very sinful people to be Christ’s ancestors. Jesus’ family lineage is made up of some good people, but also some really rotten people. His ancestors were of all kinds of sinners: liars, thieves, murderers, prostitutes, adulterers, and so on. But through those flawed people came the one perfect human in all history. So yeah, while people are, as you say, volatile and flawed creatures, God loves us so much that He still used us for His ultimate plan.
Humm, after alot of time reading every single comment, I remember my question.
If we were brought to this world right? Was it brought though Adam & Eve?, if so how? Becuase thats incest, which if i’m correct is not allowed…
BTW, Catholic Latin Rite, i am ZERO % HAVE any idea what it is, on my certificate it says Latin Rite & my beliefs are what you would say are Athesits* Although i do believe there is a higher power of SOME SORT!
Just checked, On my Birth Certificate it states (Religion: Roman Catholic Latin Rite)
Beleive me i have no idea what difference it is with normal Christain/Catholic stuff.
As well doesn’t it say, to follow one God? What if there is another God, but this God is just telling us to Follow him, and no other god.
You can’t prove to me there’s a Guy in the sky!!!
As well, if you say to me “Prove there is A God?”
I ask you Prove to me there is NO God.

Really? I didn’t know birth certificates were allowed to state religions…I thought they were like, a choice, not a thing to be born into. Can’t really ask a baby what they believe in.
And as

You and I are both Atheists. I simply believe in one less God than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all other Gods, Goddesses, Deities and religions, you will understand why I dismiss yours.
Thanks Moniker, but i seriously have no idea why i made this topic now, my questions arn’t really answered, they only said what they think i want to know… which is what i don’t know.
