democrats and republicans- what do they believe?

I’m from the uk, and I don’t understand what the ideas of each party are. Which one is the most liberal, and which is the most conservative?

They usually believe in catering to the interests of their largest donors.

The Republicans favor a conservative stance, limited central government, and strong national defense. They favor a republic, power more to the States, tend to be more corporate and for private companies and land.

The Democrats favor a liberal stance, strong central government and expansive social policies and programs. They prefer democracy and are generally more ’social’ of the two.

Well, it’s definitely true that both parties have become beasts, with the majority of those representing them completely straying from their initial roots. Everyone tries to pander to everybody to get votes, making them seem more blended together than actually distinct and different.

I’ll be voting for a true democrat next year, rather than the loudest one.

I sincerely hope the Democrats win next year. The whole world is really hoping that Americans don’t elect another jackass…..AGAIN.
