well, a language is a thing u cant learn in a day or two. it takes some time. and it’ s enough to learn some popular phrases and set expressions to be able to communicate. get a phrasebook and learn from it. and moniker is right, u fiance will help u out :)
Well you can teach him english, and he can teach you russian. It seems extremely unreasonable for him to ask you to move to russia without you knowing the language, and if your profile is true and you’re really only in 11th grade, that is illegal.
Go to a local adult education center and ask if they offer language courses.
u can do some kind of language courses or try some online sources. (u can find a bit at www.bbc.com languages)
no its not with parents ok and i turn 18 july 30th so yeah and my parent said i could marry him :p lol
What about finishing school? You have grade 12 in America, right? I think it’s a very bad idea to marry at 18, especially if this man is older than you.
So it’s a terrible idea to marry at 18. That’s all. Especially if all your finances and comfort are going to depend on him (you probably won’t be able to work in Russia).
emo, think many times b4 u move there. it’s not very likely that a guy at 22 can support 2 pp in Ukraine, and i wouldnt tell there r many jobs over there and that they pay much. many ukrainians move to russia or other countries to earn better. i dont know ur bf, he may b a nice guy and stuff, but just take care of urself. noone wants u to get in trouble in a strange country with not much knowledge of the language. u should know, it’s a great risk. at least make sure that u have some money for the return ticket, if it will b needed. bless u. :)

True say. You could end up getting preyed on by just the type of guys who prey on young, pretty, helpless women (aka pimps). Guard your passport and docs like a child, if you do move there (which you shouldn’t)
Hi!
No big deal! You can learn a lot in two months, with hard work. Try Pimsleur and Rosetta Stone, parallel to eachother.
If you don’t find them, I’ll help you.
molotok, did u actually try them? if so,how far did u get? i wonder if it works :)
Of course it works! They are acknowledged language courses. I have done only small parts of them, and I learned much enough to make myself understood.
But I focused on other stuff, the written language, because I wrote a long thing in a Russian magazine and needed it for that. So I have actually never talked a lot with Russians but will do it next week. I am going to Russia then, for the first time. I am a bit excited about it.
:D good to know. i started to learn spanish and german, but never got higher then begginer’s level. i’d like to improove the languages, but not sure if i can make enough time to go for courses or sth alike. mayb i should try the ones u suggest. :) r they good for building up vocabulary as much as learning the grammar? speaking or/and writting? anyway, thax for telling, i’ll search for them on the net. if u need any help with russian, give me a shout :) enjoy ur trip! :)
Yes, if you do all the lessons, you will not have so much problems with vocabulary.
I can certainly need help with my Russian, especially with some translations. The grammar is quite nasty, hehe!
So ruidosa, I have given you a shout. I have something for you, too!
By the way, somebody said Ukraine in a comment. Are we talking Russia or Ukraina? If the guy is Ukranian, he will know Russian, so maybe it is good to learn Russian anyway.
But I have also like 50 lessons of Ukranian, but I have not started to learn it. It is close to Russian, anyway.
thax for the reply, molotok. i’ll have a look at ur shout now :)
