can anyone tell me the names of the violin music played on the movie titanic?

Ive watched the parts where they are suggesting songs and they say the musics theme but not the name I really need to know the names of the songs! That they played I enjoyed the songs and would like to listen to them without watching the movie over and over. Ive looked at the sheet music they used on titanic but theres literately like 1000s of songs and dont wanna download them all to find these classics.

Are you talking of the scene in steerage? The Irish tunes played that Jack and Rose dance too? Or do you mean the quartet on the weather deck when the Titanic is sinking?

The artists below decks were “Gealic Storm”. Though the some of the original artists playing in the movie are no longer with the group, Gealic Storm still puts out some awsome cd’s. Check them out. One of the songs they played is “Drowsy Maggie”. You can download any traditional Irish music(ceol tradisiunta) and there are thousands of songs that you can find. Some popular songs are “Rose in the Heather, and Planxty Irwin.

The quartet on the weather deck were playing typical baroque music, though I can’t help you out with the name of the songs they play. Vivaldi is a great composer that made a lot of concertos, duets, trios and arias for violin/string ensemble.

The song (hymn) is called Nearer, My God, To Thee (Bethany version).
There is a video on YouTube with that specific version, really beautiful.

I’m trying to find the answer to that myself, but I do know three of the songs:
Orpheus of the Underwold
Alexander’s Ragtime Band
Nearer My God To Thee

I remember hearing somewhere that on the real ship, they also played “Spring”, but it wasn’t in the movie.

“Nearer, My God, to Thee” is a 19th century Christian hymn based loosely on Genesis 28:11-19,[1] the story of Jacob’s dream. Genesis 28:11-12 can be translated as follows: “So he came to a certain place and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. And he took one of the stones of that place and put it at his head, and he lay down in that place to sleep. Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it…”

It is most famous as the last song the band on RMS Titanic played before the ship sank.

The verse was written by British actress, dramatic poet and Unitarian hymn writer Sarah Flower Adams (1805-1848) at her home in Sunnybank, Loughton, Essex, England, in 1841. In the United Kingdom, the hymn is usually associated with the 1861 hymn tune “Horbury” by John Bacchus Dykes, while in the rest of the world, it is usually associated with the 1856 tune “Bethany” by Lowell Mason. Methodists prefer the tune “Propior Deo” (Nearer to God), written by Arthur Sullivan (of Gilbert and Sullivan) in 1872. Sullivan also wrote a second setting of the hymn to a tune referred to as “****. Edmund”, and there are other versions, including one referred to as “Liverpool” by John Roberts.

lol for the longest time I thought Drowsy Maggie was Tipsy Susan.
I know I had the Titanic album with the classical songs on it but I dont know where it went. It had a picture of a big boat and said Titanic. no pictures of people. and it was all silverish I think but It had the ocean. any one heard or seen that album too?

i have been trying to do a collection of every single song played on the titanic movie but i am having most dificulty with the songs played by the band i could i dentify this few

when jack is going down the grand staircase to the dining saloon: the blue danube waltz
when rose is on the dining saloon on the scene before she atempts suicide: lament
on the sunday service when they are all singing on the dinning saloon: ethernal father strong to save also known as for those who peril on the sea
when everyone is on the first class gand staircase a/boat deck just after the collision and andrews tells rose and cal that the ship will definatly sink: alexanders ragtime band
when tommy, jack, fabrizio and rose are running along the boat deck and tommy says: “Music to drown by. They’ve got everything in First Class.”: Orpheus in the Underworld, also known as the french can can
