I believe it is soluble in alcohol. So anything with alcohol will get rid of it.. rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, hard liquor.
I was going to suggest the same as above except not nail polish remover… that might damage the would.

LOL ~ thats an embarressing spelling mistake
Try a Mr. Clean Eraser, my girlfriends little boy did the samething to their piano bench, she said it took it right off and didn’t hurt the finish.
Think they will notice if we just turn it around? ^_^ Joking
Thank you All though.
Now I just got to get the marker off his forehead
I found a few testimonials from people who safely used toothpaste to remove the markers from their wood tables.

FANTASTIC! We have a beautiful bamboo table that my husband was writing on with permanent marker.(Duh!) Of course it bled through. I used Rembrandt toothpaste and the marker came right off with out damaging the finish!! I am sooooo happy.
Thank you all!

With a lot of effort toothpaste took black sharpie marker off my Grandmother’s wood chairs! Thanks for the suggestion.

I had no idea what was on my less than a year old table! It looked like something had sprayed on it and discolored it with green spots. Mild soap and water did nothing. The toothpaste did the trick! I later figured out it was paint from my child’s plastic recorder that they had blown over the table - probably lead paint too! Thank you thank you it worked.

I accidentally got permanent marker on my uncles table from not being careful enough whilst writing on paper and it went through. Luckily enough the toothpaste trick worked with a scrubber brush and I was so relieved.

The toothpaste worked great. Watch out for the Magic Eraser - we used that one time and it took the finish off our table but the toothpaste worked wonders!
I found this testimonial and a few more of people who used toothpaste to safely remove the marker.

I used the toothpaste trick on my solid wood (light wood) at that and it worked! I just smeared it on for a second and then used a sillicone safe sponge and scrubbed on it. It came off!! I have even tried bleach and it didnt work! Thank god for the internet!! I used Crest whitening with baking soda. Thanks for everyones tips! Oh and this marker has been on the table for like 2 months!
Oh my goodness thank you SO much. The toothpaste trick saved my daughter from a very angry Mom everytime I would have opened the doors to her armoire. Thank you again. It didnt take it completely off but it did lighten it up enough that you have to look for it.
i jizzed on it and it worked!
none of these work at all homers…Helpppppp!!!!!!!!!!
