mom help: I am attempting to get help through Social Security, but this can take up to 30 months. - Help.com

I am attempting to get help through Social Security, but this can take up to 30 months.

I have had 14 surgeries in the past. I am on 7 different medications daily and it takes all the money I can get to purchase it.

My daughter has ADHD, acid reflux, and suffers from depression. She is on 3 medications and luckily she qualifies for help on her medicines since she is a child.

My ex-husband is over $45,000.00 in arrears on child support. They say he is on the “locate” list. This means that they cannot find him by putting his name in a computer. He is now listed on Georgia’s Most Wanted Child Support Evaders list. I put up a link to that page as he is listed now. If you see him, turn him in. He has warrants issued for his arrest in Stephens County, Georgia.

I need all the help that I can get! Even $.50 would help! THANKS!

Check with your local Community Action or apply for a Christmas basket with local churches. We have a program here called Horn of Plenty and they supply the kids with toys and a food basket for the holidays. You need to talk to your kids and explain that right now, money is tight and you will not be able to afford allot of presents for Christmas so they will only be getting a couple of small presents. When you can afford it they will be able to get one present that they really want. Remember that it doesn’t matter how many presents they get to open. Whats important is that your there and care and love them no matter what and isn’t that what really matters. Hope this helps :-)

Homemade gifts are always more personal.
Or just make a low-budget trip out to the park and play games whilst everyone else is sat around being boring in their houses.
But if money isn’t the issue (as you don’t really make it that clear what the problem is..) just make sure you spend loads of time getting to know your daughter and playing games with her and things. The tightest relationships between families are the ones which include the most attention when positive activities occur, then things like “Time-out” when negative actions occur. I don’t want to sound like i’m giving proffesional family advice, i just watch to much “Who Rules The Roost” and “Supernanny.” Yes, i have absolutely no life. ^-^

I am disabled and out of work. I have applied for SSI, but it takes FOREVER to get it started. Most of the charities only help with Christmas for children 12 and under. My daughter is 16. I have explained to her about the money situation, and she is very understanding. She is such a great kid that I wish that she could have something nice for Christmas. Also, she really needs clothing.

My money situation is ZERO. If it weren’t for my parents we would be homeless. They would help with Christmas, but they have helped so much that they have nothing left to give.
