This sucks.

I seem to be losing friends due to my obligations. I have no problem helping out my family during this hard time but, I know that my friends have begun to give up on me when it comes to anything involving social gatherings. I make attempts to go when I can (maybe 1 out of 5 times) but I think they still wonder why they invite me anywhere. It’s a lonely place to be and although I know I will be ok, it does bother me to an extent. I can’t openly discuss what’s going on with them so, any suggestions on how I deal with the solitude? thanks…

If I were you, I would explain to them that there are problems within your family that you need to do your best to solve. If they are truly your friends, they will understand and be patient with you.

Like everyone else has said if they are true friends they would never leave yu or give up on you. Try talking to them about whats going on, and if they and I think that they will help you if they can. If you cant talk to them in person then try sending them an email or talking to them through the computer. Hang in there! You will be ok.
