How do you re-energize the creative yet practical insight,

of an adolescent nation in denial of its historicaly destructive impacts on the human existence by focusing on a ‘dream of the future,’ therefore stuck in this place called the present?
“When Will It End?”

Also, you could try your very best to destroy the false god television.
Or send the adolescent nation to it’s room until it decides to start acting in a responsible manner. If you want the rest of the world to treat you like a grown up, young man /lady / country, you had better start acting like one.
Oh, and maybe give up military action against the rest of the world for profit. That might help, too

It isn’t just adolescents!!
I think teenagers need ‘realtime’ achievements. This point in human development, when the synapses are still maleable (o.k more maleable!) Teenagers need experiences. Experiences which constitute rites of passage. They need some positive, tangible and celebrational reflections from each other and the world that validates the kind of universal (embarrasing/messy/exciting/painful/awkward) experiences that constitute - BEING A TEENAGER. Rather than being in a little world of their own where the world rejects them and they reject it in all it’s adultness. (although actually, the do need to be able to do that to but feel safe in the knowledge that the world will welcome them back with open arms when the gracefully evole into adults - in an ideal world!)
I think healthy teenagers arise from healthy children, we need to go further back in that case.
Children need freedom, risk (not danger), unconditional love and support, listening to, to PLAY vey much to Play,

and we also need to create a value system which upholds the best of human qualities as desirable not physical egoic qualities.

Adolesents is a socially constructed notion that came about sometime around the time of the industrial revolution. Before that thinks were prestty grim, but children stumbled into adulthood with no messy bit in between and there was no X-Factor.
Where will it end? Where ever we decide to make it end as a collective humanity. (or when the world becomes populated by angry irrational adolescents of all ages and completely implodes!)

I meant “adolescent” in reference to that firebrand, devil-may-care teenager that is the U S of A. As compared to us old British fogeys.
