Money help: It has been two weeks now since i’ve been searching for a job. - Help.com

It has been two weeks now since i’ve been searching for a job.

Send out almost 100 resumes through jobs on craigslist and temp agencies. I got a couple of interviews, but still no calls back. I am getting worried. Some company says i am over qualified, i am starting to think i’m not good enough to make it in this world. I want to cry, but have no one to cry to, i pray, but i don’t think god is listening. I want to run, but i have no where to go. Is this how people become homeless? I am 2 classes away from getting my Associates Degree and yet i have no money to take the classes. I feel like a complete looser.

Have you tried posting your resume on monster.com or yahoo hot jobs?

Keep trying. I am going to apply at Wal-mart of all places, which I never thought I would do in a million years, but what ever it takes to get the bills paid, be able to feed all my animals, (sheep, pigs, chickens, horses, etc.) and try to keep my house.

Try perhaps an intership, or a temp agency, ask your teachers for help, some times the school you are attending has openings,or leads to some.

You are a Great person, perfectly and wonderfully made by God him self, keep faith and be strong. All that you have prayed for will come to you.

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9

Big Hugs, Vikie

Two weeks is NOTHING when you’re looking for a job. I spent two months job hunting until I got the one I started in November and a friend of mine had 15 interviews before she got hers.
Be persistant, keep sending out those CV’s and applications. Get someone else to check your CV, they can make sure you’ve not forgotten anything or misphrased something.
Make sure it’s not just a CV, but a positive description of your skills base and abilities. Have you been including covering letters? They can make such a difference as they give you a chance to explain exactly why you’d be the person they need to hire for the job.
Respectfully, I have to disagree with Eidos, it’s not about luck. You have to make sure your applications are tailored for the job, so that the employers think you’re the best person for it.
Example:
I applied to be a classroom assistant, so, even though I have a BSc in Astrophysics, I instead emphasised how much work I’ve done with children and got an interview.
I then applied to be a lab technician in a school, and whilst the work with kids was important, I played up the science geek side and got the job, and the oppertunity to start teaching.
Don’t just send out generic applications, and don’t think it’s going to happen overnight. There are a lot of people applying, especially for temping jobs at this time of year and it can take up to two weeks just for the agencies to get through them all.
Keep trying, and don’t lose hope, you will find yourself something.
