Matt, you need BF 2142 first , then get the “Northern Strike” add on. Northern Strike can only be played in Multiplayer mode. The N.S. pack adds some nice weapon unlocks to the whole game though.

Natty, Punkbuster will boot you from all servers if your in-system “Punkbuster” isn’t working or of the same version that’s currently used online. I suggest a re-install or a BF-2142 Punkbuster update.

As a note; Teamwork is really the key to successful wins. Which lead to higher scores and those helpful unlocks. I’ve noticed teams get rolled over by five opposing soldiers just because one guy was healing the fallen. On the other team, nobody was healing fallen mates to regain the advantage. Five guys working as a team take out 22 of the enemy.(re-spawns included) Shooting, Healing, laying mines and taking flags.
The other team,…. chickens with their heads cut off. Hiding, ducking, running in circles and dying in the carnage blasted upon them by the prepared soldiers.
Teamwork pays off big too. There’s numerous point values in most things you do. Number of kills in a row, defense points, attack points, points given for offering supplies, medical assistance, repairing things, or just being all around helpful.
All these things lead to battle pins, higher Rank, better weapons, and more carnage.

i have the game and used to play online without having to download anything, i uninstalled it and now i cant find any servers at all plz what do i need to download to get it working

yea, its wierd.. when I open the game it says, new patch available go to EA Link to install. Yet when i go to EA Link I’ve already installed all the available patches. Oh and EA link rarely connects eventhough my ping is always in the 20’s

I get the servers up, but everytime it is finish loading, it closes and a mail that says i need the regular version or something, HOW DO I GET THAT ONE?
