where are good places to make friends?

to make this a bit less vauge i will describe myself and where i live a bit. i am 25 and have 1 friend who is not a relative though we have grown distant over the last two years. i have a broad range of interests focusing more on somewhat geeky hobbies. though i i have not had the opportounity to explore that facet of myself i am also somewhat spiritualistic. (not the hold a crystal to my forehead kind, more rational and introspective) i posatively hate people that drink and dont care much to be arround smokers so going to the few bars and clubs in my small city is not an option. i would welcome a romantic intrest though just making a couple new friends is enough for now.
the city i live in has a dismal set of activities and public meeting places. i honestly dont know what anyone here dose for recreation other than going to the local walmart or eating at one of the 6 steak resteraunts. there are a few larger cities nearby but i have travel issues currently and perfer not to have long distance relationships if it is avoidable.
if this is not enough information i would be happy to supplement it later.

Hey there is not a specific place to make friends, you dont need to search for one in a club or library, it can be anywhere, with any person who accepts you with whatever you have or do , no questions asked.well, i define friendship as sharing and respecting each other no matter what. whenever you fell like talkin you can talk to me atleast.
