Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
it could be the way you are dressing or if you are too talkative or on what experience you have….if this is your first job then you’re gonna have some trouble in the beginning but you’ll find one…you could try places that hire anyone…some grocery stores here take everyone..you could try a place where one of your friends work so they can give you a recommendation..
well what do u want 2 do…any ideas…are u picky ?
Naw, I’m not picky, I just want to be getting paid. It’s pretty frustrating always being broke.
The recommendations are a good idea, actually.
do you present yourself professionally? do you let your application get crumpled? strange peircings in any weird places?
ya i worked @ a grocery store all thro high school and now i am working full time @ a truck shop love my job, but ya try walmart or a grocery store..or mcdonalds… ya u should look like a human when u go 2
if it makes you feel better i haven’t “gotten a job” in like three years!

ur a bumb
It’s a lot in the wording, too, of your CV. My bf did my english CV (cause I’m not good in English writing and I was applying for american companies) and the wording does it all. Who knew Couche-Tard could sound so interesting?! Hahaha…
It could also be because of your age… Where are you applying? If you are only looking for a part time job, go for like a mall or a restaurant or something. Or even some kind of marketing, or customer service, or phone surveys or something. And do you speak french? Most jobs here require french… Whereabouts in Mtl are you? Try the mall closest to you. When are you available? A lot of places need people for evenings and weekends.
Phew, enough questions for now :P
Cleaning, kitchenwork, packing, running errands, gardening, babysitting, newspaper delivery are some of the jobs available. These jobs will be posted in local newspapers and billboards. Many businesses hesitate to employ minors because of the legal restrictions on working hours and documentation required.
A better option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys. In some cases, you may have to set up an account in your parents or guardians name, and ask them to pay you, after they get the money for your work. I’m applying at the typical places; malls and fast food places. And yes, my CV is in both french and english. I don’t get the age thing cause all the 14 and 15 year olds I know are all getting hired :(
I have a consideration for you….

and…….
It could be many things, the way to talk to people, the way you dress or your body language—or when you applied, if you’re looking for a retail job and you apply after everyone else has already done so, they might not have any open positions for a minor. In the US, students aren’t allowed to work past midnight and they aren’t suppose to exceed 20 hours during the school year (if I remember properly.)
Keep applying, be polite to all the employees you come in contact with, dress nicely even if no one else is. Maybe it’s your available hours?

Ok what is with me not getting a job?
I’m 16, and all my friends have jobs- and I’m sorry, but I honestly think I’m more qualified than them…and all the 14-15 year olds have jobs too! I’ve circulated countless copies of my CV, filled out countless applications, and yet only scored one interview, which I wasn’t back after. WTF? My CV is perfectly fine; at least, a lot better than a lot of the other CVs I’ve seen that got people hired. What am I doing wrong?
