Team help: I have a team of 100 in my staff. - Help.com

I have a team of 100 in my staff.

i need to divide them into 4 teams without being biased. I prefer this to be done based on either the date of birth or some other way where we do not have to manually do it. This will ensure that there is transparancy in the way we do it. Please let me know if you have any ideas on this.

Ask them to get into their own groups. That way, they can be with their buddies and will be happier that they are working in a more democratic environment.

I dont think getting them to chose the groups is the best way forward as it potentially may cause friction and biased inadvertantly. I think you decide, in a fair way, make sure each team is divided with equal capabilites in both. I worked in firm where they did this, and when it came from the top, their was no problem, as it was explained the reason why it was divided into such, i.e, this team has so in so because of their strength in this area for each member of staff, turning it all into a positive etc and ensuring that each team is as diverse as possible. Hope this helps.

I think it would be best to look at the strengths of the individuals. I know that this is time consuming, but putting people in teams which work best together and who compliment one anothers skills…and get along, would be best for staff morale and productivity.
Be interesting to hear what you decide to do.

othrwise it is a waste of an opportunity to create a better working environment for everyone.

…if you really dont want to do it any other way you could make them pull tickets out of a carton…might be fun!

Or put them into teams alphabetically
