You proably have some spyware on your system. Go to http://download.com and get these programs. AD-Aware, Spybot search and destroy, CCleaner and also if you dont have it Antivirus programs like Avast or AVG. Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)

all of that and also, as part of your monthly maintenance, it is good practice to defragment your computer. Also, about every year or two, back up all your files and completely wipe your disk clean and reformat your entire computer. That’s a lengthy process because you have to save everything and reinstall everything, but it makes a difference. Maybe it’s time?

You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

You need to be careful about removing all of your startup programs. Obviously some of them may be needed for instance the program that starts your wireless adapter. Go though each item in your start up listing and evaluate them individually. If there is something you don’t recognize then Google for it. If it’s ads or unknown web sites that are popping up then Ad-aware is a good program to run. You might also consider downloading Windows Defender from the Microsoft website. It’s also free and works quite well.

Good Luck Ron
