I don’t know. Just the thought of having to wear a pad or something around guy friends right after my health class talked about reproduction and menstruation and things in a classroom we shared is kind of awkward.

Ah, well. As long as I don’t have to mention it. Because he’d probably tease me about it. :S He’s a teen, yet he’s pretty immature. :D

No kidding. I can just imagine it….

Me: Hey, guess what! I have my period and right now I’m bleeding!
Guy Friend: Um, right…..I think I’ll go run away screaming like a girl now.

Agreed.

Although we like to poke fun at the whole PMS thing, a woman’s menstruation cycle comes in close to dead last on our favorite things to talk about list.

Just my 2cents, gonna go try and bleach my brain and forget this thread now.

I know. I told my mom, and my sister overheard. And somehow my teenaged BROTHER found out and asked if I had it. :S I was within earshot each time. Sigh. News spreads fast.

Ooh yeah
see I have a weird period, the incredible amounts of bleeding should subside eventually… I hope.
Be happy that you’re not in pain! May I suggest tampons? They help.

Tampons? Don’t those go…….*goes back to hiding* I don’t know, I’m a bit wary about that.

Anywho, Mom’s scolding me. It’s three in the morning. *looks sheepish* But feel free to leave tips! I need them.

Ooh, yeah, I need to head off to bed.
But first:
Tampons, once you get used to them, reeeeeally work. Well. It’ll feel weird at first, but once you figure them out, they work much better than pads. But if you have incredible amounts of bleeding, then you might want to wear a pad with them, to prevent leakage.
I’m not going anon on this, so no one mark it as quotable? :P
Really, though. Tampons are your friend, the bleeding should stop, and good luck to you. :)

Also Tampons are unisex, nothing stops a nose bleed better than Tampax.

Yeah I agree with mittens too, was going to mark it but then thought I can’t be that cruel lol so I didn’t.
Tampons ar also more hygenic and more so if you get the applicator ones, tampons can also be flushed.
When you start to use them alsways make sure you buy the ones with the smallest absorbency first and then work your way up to the ones that suit you, you do not want to buy a more absorbent one as it can cause irritation. Also remember that the stronger the absorbency des not mean you can change it les.
Goodluck

Having your period is a natural , healthy thing & it is not a big deal . You are lucky that you don’t feel any pain during it ( no pain means more bleeding ) .

Don’t use any medical pills to stop your period as you are so young for birth contol pills .

Ah welcome to womanhood. It stinks. Hahaha. Seems you got your answers up there. Every woman is a little different. Your first few periods will probably be the worst. And things will even out after a few months. And you’ll get used to them and feel mroe comfortable about them. And as you get older your body will continue to change, as will your uterus so your periods will too. I used to bleed for 7 days at a time. Now, I’m barely over 2 days.

Good luck honey!

dont be embarrassed about having your period. it’s a natural thing that all women have to deal with (unless they are on the shot, or etc.) but some girls (especially around your age) are so secretive about it you’d think its a rare disease. don’t let guys tease you about it! they don’t know what it’s like! as for your question, it will change with time. my first two years were awesome, they lasted like 3 light days w/no cramps. now its 5-6 days with major cramps and pain ( had to go on birth control because of it) but don’t do that till your older.

This is a question for girls *glares sternly at peeping boys*!

Um, if I got my period on Friday, when does the blood flow loosen up? Then end?

I’ve got no problems with the period, I have no cramps, no headaches, no nausea. Sweet.

But I’m kinda getting impatient with the blood. When does it lay off?!
