My laptop is not recognizing my DVD!

HELP!!!

I am currently in the process of reading this step-by-step guide of how to add DVD’s to your laptop to be converted to the correct file format for my brand new iPod Touch.

So far I downloaded the software, and insterted my DVD.
But my computer doesnt even see it! I go to My Computer and click “CD Drive (D:)” drive and it says “Please instert a disk into drive D:.”

HELP ME PLEASE! i’m so desperate!!!!

there are no connectors.
its just my laptop. i can usually just put a dvd into the cd drive and watch dvd’s but now its not seeing them.

idk why.

no its the dvd Little Miss Sunshine. I’m trying to add it to my new ipod touch but first i need to put it on my laptop. and my laptop isnt recognizing it at all.
or any of my other dvd’s!

Try this link (only if you’re using XP) AND the following applies:

• You cannot access the CD drive or the DVD drive by using My Computer.
• One of the following error messages appears when you view the CD drive or the DVD drive in Device Manager:

Error message 1
The device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device (Code 31).
Error message 2
A driver for this device was not required, and has been disabled (Code 32 or Code 31).
Error message 3
Your registry might be corrupted. (Code 19)
• You receive an “error code 39″ error message.
• A message that resembles the following appears in the notification area:
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

Be SURE to back up your Registry prior to executing!

Are you sure that the drive supports DVDs? Have you played them before? If you’re sure that your drive supports DVDs and have played them in the past then, Your original software driver may have been corrupted and replaced with a generic CD software driver. To check this out do the following. Go to CONTROL PANEL, Find the SYSTEM icon and click on it, select the HARDWARE tab and then DEVICE MANAGER. In the list find the line that says CDs and DVDs and click on it. It will display the name of your drive. Now click on it and then click on update driver. Just follow the instructions to automatically find the software. If this doesn’t work you will have to search for an updated driver. In that case please get back to us for additional help.
