I received a painting easel for Christmas, as I asked for, and I’m about to set out on my first painting.

I’ve never really painted before, though I’ve drawn and such. Actually, that’s why I want to try. Its a mission of mine to find something I’m good at that I enjoy, and painting might be one of them. I’m not sure, yet.

Anyways, I’ve already got what I want sketched out. It’s an abstract, of sorts. They easel only came with three canvases, so I shall try with the printer paper on a smaller scale, first, just to see how it works and just, and then I’ll move up to the canvas.

Well, any advice encouragement, or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Well, thanks. Yes, they are oil paints. I sketched out this with pencil. I can use charcoal to sketch later, especially because this printer paper has something on the over side…
Well, thanks again for the advice.

I didn’t understand half the things you said, but okay. By the way, I’ll scan the sketch right now and post it, if you want to see.

Umm…if that’s what this oily stuff in the bottle is, then yes.
(I guess I have no idea what I’m doing…)
I’m scanning the thing right now.

Okay, then. I guess I won’t be starting to paint tonight, then.

Um, no. I still want to paint, but I can’t, I guess…Well, not know. You just made it harder than I thought. That isn’t a bad thing, though. I like a challenge.
Oaky, then. The oily stuff is labeled “Oil colour Painting Medium”
Oh, I just found an instructions booklet. I shall read. But I like to figure it myself, without rules, but I guess I have to, unless I want to waste this stuff.

Sometimes, I don’t even know what I mean by it. I don’t know what I’m doing! That’s what I love about abstract. My mind has no idea what’s going on. It’s…direct communication between my hand and my soul. I don’t think about it until I’m done.
But, the entwinement in the corner is couple in love. The swirl in the middle in the sun. The two large creatures are just that…large creatures. I modeled them after giraffes. And the thing looking from the top is a snake…
Hmm…I think it’s supposed to be the Garden of Eden.
