I just have to mention one of the most inspirational songs I have ever heard:

Lose Yourself by Eminem

Download it, have a listen. I’m not an Eminem fan by any stretch (some of his lyrics don’t sit well with me at all) BUT, “Lose Yourself” for one, is just - for some reason - almost indiscribable.

I actually encourage anyone to have a(nother) listen… Including those who *can’t stand* that genre of music. Listen to the story and the energy and conviction, rather than the individual words.

Are people laughing at me yet :-) Am I alone on this one (as in, you’re saying “yeah, it’s an ok song”)

Hrm… you invited the right guy. I have 120 of his songs, or songs he is involved in. I like him, because I think he is genuine. I don’t have to agree with everything but as you say, he is engaged.

Molotok: ‘Genuine’ Yes, that’s the word. During that song, you get the sense that he’s living through the story as he’s singing it. It think that’s what makes that one song so much more potent that other ‘inspirational’ songs… Fyi, Country is full of ‘em. :-)

I will check that out Saggezza. :) I am a huge music fan! I like a variety and if I song has both a beautiful or catchy tune and inspirational or meaningful lyrics - it makes it all the more powerful! :D

yeah I’ve been listening to that song for years whenever I get down. whenever I get overwhelmed by life, I listen to “Just a Ride” by Jem which calms me down, then I listen to “Lose Yourself” and it inspires me to keep on going
