Go to your local hardware store and look for detailed wood dowls for kitchen cabinets. They have the fancy curves and designs, then cut them to the size you want and sand the ends. Now you have harry potter wands. Hope this helps :-)

Ive used them making paper holders and little nooks in cabinets. You can get them from the thickness of a pencil to any size above that. You can also use larger dowls 4 feet and above to make a wizard staff. :-)
