New life, new year, starting out with nothing.

I had been drinking every night for a month and I finally decided that I had to do something to change. I am in Missoula Montana and I had a truck untill last night when a drunk driver smashed into it while it was parked on the curb. I am just wondering where should I restart? I am thinking about the future and I don’t really know what I want. I have several skills that I could use to make plenty of money. Sales, HVAC tech, Autocad, Mechanical design, and some computer programming are all skills I can work with.

I’m looking for a place to restart, but I really don’t know what I want out of a new place. I lived in Albuquerque NM for 95% of my life and finally got to the point that I just left everything behind.

Any ideas?

You can try job search websites. In Canada, there is Workopolis and Monster… I’m sure there are American equivalents. You select your various skills from a list, enter in where you live and things like that, you can also attach a resumé. Try that… check newspapers. Praying that you will find a good-paying job that makes you happy works pretty well too. ;) Best of luck… and a hug!!!

thanks EA29

I’m not sure if I really want a job where I am. I’m more looking for a place I want to settle down than for a job. I don’t mind being homeless. Yeah you sleep in the dirt and its cold outside but it isn’t really all that bad.

Where are some really good places to live?

Ask for a place to settle down! And then follow guidance and signs you get, even if they don’t seem to make sense (like walking down a certain street that seems out of your way, you might find the perfect place!). That’s how the universe/God works! If you can, invest in renting or purchasing the dvd or book “The Secret.” Just be sure that you FEEL GOOD and you will be led to more places and things that make you feel good! :) I’m rootin’ for ya!!
Hug,

sorry to hear about your truck.. i have to say… just a couple of months ago.. my car was parked on the curb as well.. and a car comming from the opposite direction smashed my car to the point in which it had to be totaled. sucks… and because it was his first offense.. no jail time… and i got 1/4 of what my car was worth… i just wanted to go over and beat the shi* out of him… but the cops wouldnt let me.. as for you stopping the drinking… im glad that this was a wake up call to you… and i wish you luck…

I already have that book, I need to read it again.

Well, the public library I’m at is closing, thanks for the replies. Perhaps I will log in here again sometime soon.

One very positive note, I haven’t even wanted to pick up a bottle since I abandoned ship. I guess the drudgery and grim outlook I had in Albuquerque were leading me to the drink. I like being sober and I have that again.
