I was driving my 2004 Ford Focus SVT home from work

last night, it was about 30 degrees outside, and halfway through the drive my heat suddenly stopped working and only blew cold air. On my way to work this morning, the heat was still not working and while examining the instruments I noticed that the oil temperature gauge was high, in the red while cruising in 6th gear at about 70 mph. The oil pressure gauge was normal and the engine temperature gauge was slightly high and wavering somewhat. On my return from work again this afternoon, same problem. When I downshifted to 5th gear the oil temp. would drop a small amount and when I came to a stop it, and the engine temp. would completely level out. What is going on?

your car is about to die, take it to the dealer ASAP, the longer you wait, the more it will cost you in repairs.

Could be the thermostat which regulates the flow the coolant in and out of the radiator.

Your heater works by sending antifreeze through the heater core. Check to make sure that there IS coolant in the overflow resevoir. If not, you have a leak somewhere. If there is, then it’s likely that either your thermostat is bad or your water pump is bad.
