Umm, maybe a glitch, try and reboot see if it still doesn’t load. If it is still the same then go to all programs and find it in there, open it and find out if the setting has been changed for some reason.

Does your comp make any sign of doing something when you click the icon?
Have you right clicked on it to open it that way?
Do a reboot and see where you get with that, if that doesn’t work then try and find yahoo in your program files and see if it will open there.

Thats all I can think of, sorry.

Ah, being a YM user for quite a few years, I have had this problem myself many times. (especially with Windows 98, it’s frustrating as heck, isn’t it?) However, if you’re running an Apple Mac, my only suggestion is, uninstall your Yahoo, and reinstall it from the Yahoo site. Not because it can’t be fixed, but because I have no idea how Apple Macs work, their commands or features.

If you’re running Windows XP, try pressing Alt, Ctrl+Delete, Windows Task Manager will come up. I say XP, because there’s tabs at the top that look different from the Windows Task Manager on Windows 98. Go to the “Processes” tab and look for either “YPager” or “Yserver” (these are what Yahoo goes under) If they are there, click on them and choose “End Process”. This won’t harm anything, so don’t worry. It will just take Yahoo Messanger from the “running programs” memory. If they are not there, I suggest the only option you have, is the same with Apple Mac’s, uninstall and re-install.

This, bugs the hell out of me, because I’m a complete pack-rat and keep archives of all my messages and conversations with everyone…it’s fun to go back and read them from time to time. So you may lose them. However, to try preventing losing them, (if you keep them) try to remember what version you are running, and install the SAME version you just uninstalled. (I find this to be affective 90% of the time and not lose my archives, but it all depends) If you’re running (or were) a version that is not on the Yahoo site (ie; and older version) then I suggest finding the version on www.oldversion.com . Brilliant site that, considering I’m still running Version 7.0. and me being paranoid about software I’m not used to, will keep it there. LOL. However, if you don’t care for archives, and don’t care what version you use, then just install whatever is easiest for you.

I hope this helped a little. I’m not a complete expert on computers or software, but I know my way around a little for an emergency. :)

Try going to the Java web site and updating your Java script. Pick the operating system your using for the correct update.

You need to get to windows Services and reactivate it. (start —> control Panel —> administrative tools —-> services) set anything about “yahoo” to automatic. (not what I’d do, but it should help it start up automatically again)

If not, mess around with the settings, make sure it is still installed, etc.

I want to know why it was suspended and how can I get the messages that was coming to that email account? The account name was (email removed) and when it was suspended I was directed to make a new email account which is now (email removed). I am not receiving any email at this tine. I had jobs I applied to and this is my business address that all my affiliate companies contact me. This is a huge inconvience!

I lost mine too, and I can’t seem to get past level 1 on my new account. (when I had my old account I’d answer everyone… now I only answer people I can really help- so I have a good “best answer” percentage, but few points. I also still use that for answering all my questions)

I do not like the new Yahoo mail. The print is too small. When I try to print something, it only prints part of the article. I want to revert back to the former mail system.
