clean your locker after school or before, or during a study hall. junk out things you don’t need, and try to plan out a rotation scheduel for yourself around your classes that’ll let you get back to your locker and swap books for other books you need to keep the weight to a minimum. organize your locker so it’s easy to get to all your stuff as well, but junking out is going to help you the most

Take a deep breath first to get things into perspective. This isn’t bad, it’s fine, and you can handle it. Look at other kids in your same classes and how much they carry around. I know I used to carry to much junk in school. I was really unnecessary - I didn’t even need to bring books to class and I did. I shouldn’t have. And there was definitely time between classes to go to my locker, but I refused to believe it. Also, rotate what homework you do what day - do all your homework that requires certain books that week on Monday, for example, then another book on Tuesday, etc. Don’t carry it all around on speculation - exercise your brain, get organized, and remember which books you actually need and which you do not.

A couple of tips about backpacks - if you have a backpack that has straps that can go over both your shoulders, use both of them. Carrying a bag on one shoulder uses fewer muscles, and so can be a bigger strain. Also, once your backpack is on your shoulders, if it is still too heavy, carry a book or two in your arms also. This uses a whole different set of muscles, and will divide the weight up so that more muscles are helping you carry the books.
Don’t carry more than you need. Spend a day testing to see if you have time to go to your locker between each of your classes. Then you will know which classes you won’t be late for if you do make a stop.
