I would love to help. Unfortunately, I’m in Australia, so I’m not sure how much use I could be. :( However, if there is a way, I will most gladly help as much as I can.
Thank you for your reply…. I feel honored that you are wiling to help…. it would have been beter if you could come… But will let you to decide how you might help. Please help in any way you can…these people really need our support.
I will do my best. There might be a fundraiser that could help through my end of the world (after all, we’re not that far from each other. LOL) If not, I may be able to make some arrangements and organize something through my political party I’m a member of. I shall do whatever I can, and I wish you the very best of luck. It is certainly a wonderful thing that you’re doing. In fact, I think I feel more honored to see someone like yourself out there trying their best to help other in need.
Thank you very much for your support. I have been trying to help these people as much as I can. But here most of the “CONCERNED PERSONALS” are not at all concerned.I know my help won’t make much change, but I feel better when I stand beside them. I need frends like you those who really care.Hope you did’nt mide I added you to my friend’s list. Thank you again.
Any help is better than no help at all. Even the smallest show of friendship can brighten up someone’s darkest moment. Maybe you can’t change it all, but it’s a start in the least, and it makes a difference to a lot of people that maybe you won’t even notice behind the scenes. Just showing that you care is a big help in so many ways.
And I certainly don’t mind you’ve added me, I shall do the same. :)
Just curious to know….I see that you are from the states….are you now an Australan citizen??? are you a member of Ausi politcal party???
I would like to ask you to spell out all of the types of help you are asking for. This gives people the information on how best they can help you.
Hello Thep,
Thanx for your reply.Any sort of help would do… Volunteering, Donating cash - cloths - food - shelter … what ever…. in any way… or at least praying for them. these people are dieing from starvation, lack of shelter…

Yes, I was born in the U.S and moved to Australia when I was 5. So I’m a citizen. And yes, I’m a member of the Australian Democrats here.
Thank you too, thep. You seemed to have helped already.
jfpanna.
I am glad you have re-opened the post. Please keep it open. I am going to try to get people on Help.com to encourage you to keep on helping.
When you feel down you can come, look and see that people from all over the world do care. If all they can offer is a kind word. That is enough to lift some other person to keep on striving.
I have marvelled in the past at the amount of encouragement the members of this website can give when they come together. It is incredably awesome.
Please let me know you have recieved this message, so that I can ask them to give you moral support.
skye.
I think that all people matter and all that is needed, is for them to realize this fact.
It sounds incredibly simple but seems incredibly hard to get accross.
This website does a good job of doing that, the website though. is the members who make it what it is. Without them it would be nothing. I am glad I am a small part of it.
Well, it’s a great thing what you are doing. Sadly though, I have no idea where to even start with a website. But I will try my best. It’s 4:30AM here, so there’s not much I can do at this point. But as soon as I get some sleep (I tend to be a night-owl these days) I’ll see what I can do from my end.
Go get some rest. It helps to sort problems out, once you are rested.
I plan on doing that very shortly. LOL. I can feel myself seeing my keyboard as a pillow.
dear skye & thep
I already feel good by reading your posts. I am already started to collect info fr the website.
Nice to see you again. I will ask a few other people to read this post later today.
It is 8-00 am here. So it wont be until this afternoon that I do that.

okay, i am in to helping this project with some friends in this site. do let us know what else we can do. :)
I think that’s the key, what can we do? I want to help, but I need to know how. :) Talk to us.
Gosh, I just realized I have friends in my personal life with families close to where you are. programmes in the US with the right visa because they are that good. I’ll talk to them and see what I can shake out.
(programmers) whatever been a little shaken up for other reasons today.
Hi Thep, Great to hear from you. lil_bit_shi , ~lilies~ , nikko Thank you very much. I thought I was the only person in this impossible project. But now I feel good. Thank you so much.
It has been a pleasure to meet you :)
Keep on hanging in there. You can upload pictures to this website as well.
Some that have answered, would like to know more about how they can help you. Show us with pictures and you own words the dificulties facing you in this task of yours.
Sort of spell it all out, be as discriptive as you can. nikko seems to have an idea she could be quite helpful. Give her a shout and talk to her
I will discribe in full of what I am doing with details. and how can you all be of help as well. Please give me some time (not much, a day or 2) so that I may sort out and give you all a summery
I will be looking out for you. I will not always be about but there are others on the site that you can turn to now. Take all the time you need. Dont rush this.
Not a problem, jfpanna. I’m moving into my new house today, and having a new computer set up, so it’ll be easier to work from there. Also, there’s a few places I looked into earlier. WorldVision and CareAustralia are doing some stuff for it, and I’m going to try and get involved in that, as well as maybe setting up something through a radio station here to help.
I’ll do the best I can and probably add more as soon as I can think of some othe angles. But like thep said, details will help.
good to hear from you skye, for the past two years I had no identity, I mean I did not have any organization. But recently I am trying to establish an organzation. a Social Service Organization. But it will take some time. Cause the Bangladsesh Government has become very strict.I am tryng my best. But I don’t want to stop working. I need to proove that I can really capable. And that is why I have come to you Guys. ths is a small summary.
I have managed to find a map and some information about the flooding you talk about.
I have also found out that this happens every year but this year has been the worst in living memory.
In a little while I will put the map and information on your post.
I’ll shout you me email. I will ask Arun, Sudeshna and Madhuri what/who they know.
The map of the whole area including Bangladesh.

Some information a little old but apparently still applicable. About five million people have been displaced or marooned by the flooding, according to government figures, and 64 people have been killed.
Some two-thirds of the country is believed to be underwater.
Thousands of families have taken shelter on higher ground, taking the tin walls and roofs of their houses with them to ensure they can rebuild their homes when the water eventually recedes.
The government insists it can cope, but the relief effort is patchy.
As the monsoon rains from Nepal and north-east India work their way into the Bangladeshi river delta, flood levels could rise further.
A prolonged crisis would leave hundreds of thousands at risk from hunger and disease, correspondents say.
me =my - agghh. very bad say for silly reasons.
My cat is bugging me and she steps on the keys. I’ll see what i can dig up.
Oh!!! you Have cat?? I have two chickens only 10 days old…
There are already hundreds dying of polluted water deseases a day. thousands are drinking this polluted water, becuase that’s all there is. More and more of them are geting these deseases.
There are THOUSANDs of problem people are facing…. you wo’t beleave unless you see them with your own eyes.
It’s a little start of enlightenment, to me. I never knew this is something that happens every year.
I will see them with my own eyes, but my eyes wont be able to get there for about three months.
Lokking forward to it.
Looking

Always a pleasure Thep. Let’s get something going for her. I could likely go too. I am awaiting on my friends responses from my personal life. They are about 2 hours away from her.
Thankyou nikko.
We will let jfpanna dictate the pace. We need to know that she has enough time to cope with the things she is trying to achieve. She must also be aware of the need to rest and get away from it from time to time.
As long as jf can cope with all of this I would love to have there with us.
Hi!! everyone…sorry for not loging in last two days…. my PC crashed… I would be very happy if you come and visit Bangladesh. Thanks again and here are some of the pics of Sundarban of 12th and 13th December 207 …I will upload more friquantly

If you click on the small picture above you will get a sieries of pictures to look at. You have managed quite well to show us the photos.
It may be wise to start another post.
Title it Udate on cyclone Sidr.
nikko left you a message and seems to have an interest in visiting Bangladesh. Give her a shout and talk to her about it.
nikko sugests we get together, to make something happen for you. With you project to help your fellow country people. What are your thoughts about this?
I have been doing a lot of research on and about your post. I would like to put snippets of information on your new post.
I have also been trying to find recent information on the continuing after effects of cyclone Sidr. This is one article I have found
aftermath.”
“We are doing emergency assessments on the ground and the primary needs are food, water shelter and medicines. Hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes and there is a lot of work to do to stop the death toll rising higher.”
The coastal districts of Khulna and Barisal are the worst-affected areas, with nearly 1 million people being evacuated from their homes.
Vicious 250kph winds devastated homes and uprooted trees and power poles. Communication lines are down, with some mobile networks working sporadically. This had made it difficult for aid agencies to ascertain damage and carry out relief operations in remote areas. Tidal Surge A 15ft (5m) tidal surge has devastated three coastal towns that are home to around 700,000 people. Communication is completely down in these areas and authorities are yet to hear information about casualties.
The surge has washed away hundreds of homes, destroyed crops and killed livestock.
Despite cyclone warning alerts, over 100 fishing boats did not return to shore after the cyclone hit. The UN estimates 1,000 fishermen to be missing. Nowhere to Shelter Around 10 million people live on Bangladesh’s coast, but there are only enough storm shelters for around half a million people.
Many people are sheltering in concrete buildings, such as schools or mosques. Cyclone after the Monsoon Cyclone Sidr is hitting Bangladesh only months after half the country was submerged under floodwaters.
Thousands of people in cyclone-affected areas were just beginning to pick up their lives after the floods. They now face a new challenge of coping with this disaster too.
There is an urgent need for food, clean water, shelter and medicine. Islamic Relief response Islamic Relief (IR) has opened an emergency control room to deal with the breaking emergency. IR staff and local organisations are carrying out emergency assessments in 10 districts.
There are not many, realy up to the minute updates available.
So now it’s up to people like yourself “Iron Lady” to hang in there and keep on fighting for yourself and the peoples of your country.
Take time to rest every now and then, it will help you to cope with a clearer knowledge and understanding of what you should do next.
Thank you thep for your wonderful comments. It would be a wonderful project if you all join me in this war of survival of both the people of Bangladesh and me.
Though before taking this huge step I need to gain more support locally which I have already achived among my friends.but stll I need some preparation.
I have good friends who are helping me to understand like yourself.
As you have suggested…I will reopen a new post. But the target is not only SIDR…. Hunger, shelter, education and survival is also my projects with which I am trying to do. Please suggest about the mentioned above.
Were you able to see the pics???? I will upload more tomorrow.
it’s 1:22 a.m. need some sleep…
Thankyou very much. All of you.
This is why I sugest a new post and the reason for putting that last article about the aftermath.
Take your time and keep us imformed of any progress you make.
I can and have looked at all of the pics. If you upload them to you new post it will give users on here something to remind them that other people need there help.
Updating the situation in your country and showing the plight of people in their every day strugles with life is never wrong.
So keep on trying, but dont forget to look after youself as well.
