Year help: I’m fourteen-years-old and have been exhibiting extreme behaviors of borderline personality disorder. - Help.com

I’m fourteen-years-old and have been exhibiting extreme behaviors of borderline personality disorder.

They don’t want to diagnosis me with it because I’m only fourteen, but they are quite certain I have it. I have just read that it is most commen in young women. I have threatened suicide multiple times, I have a crush on a guy and if something he does is slightly off I completely stop liking them in that way. I’m confused about my identity, I have random anger spurs towards my mother, I’m incredibly compulsive (OCD)and I think that people are having negative thoughts about my physical and emotional being. My dad was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder just last year because he had refused to seek help. Finally he has and is feeling much better. So you believe I will be helped or will this be an ongoing torturous experience for me?

This must be hard for you!
I wish there was more i could do for you!
You are still young ! They might be wrong. I mean I’m no doctor of course, but you never know.
Being confused about who you are is normal, everyone goes through that! And I wouldn’t worry too much about boys, you still have your whole life ahead of you, don’t try and rush things!
Glad to know your dad is better.
Hang in there

Simple meditation can make dealing with it easier. Medication can help even more. Do what you have to do.

That really sounds like me. Actually. But my father has not been diagnosed with BPD. I have incredibly massive mood swings, am working on stopping self-injury, binge eat, and generally feel crazy. But hey, I’m working on it. And sort of surviving. If you need someone to talk to, feel free to e-mail me.
