computer help: I have just connected my tv up to my computer so i now have dual - Help.com

I have just connected my tv up to my computer so i

now have dual screens, the idea was to watch films from the pc on the tv, but when i play them the pc screen shows the film but the tv does not, every thing else is fine….divx, real player, and windows media player all do the same………..any idea’s anyone……..

Ah yes this is prob caused by the video card drivers when using 2 displays the pc is set as the “primary” display so video windows will only show on this window , what you need to do is make the tv the primary display and one of the optons should also be to “mirror” screen , the film will then play fine in tv ….catch me again between 9-5 when im at work tomorrow and i will try and find docs showing how to do it ….

Sorry you also need to remember to change it back to watch video on pc again ? lol

Just play the dvd then drag the window it is in onto your tv sreen

Yep Shadow well spotted, that will still not work the video overlay will still be on pc but who knows .
You know I think I will stop giving pc advice to everyone. It will save my fingers fro getting sore and wasting my time typing in a fix.
I may even create a automated reply to simplify things one that just replies to computer problems with the amswer :- ” Yes its Broke ! ”
